No power boats are allowed on the water, which maintains the ambience of peace and tranquility. There are walking trails along the dam’s edge with various short cuts should you prefer an easy stroll. The walking trails take you through streams and over rocks, and can take an hour to 90 minutes.

Nature watching opportunities abound in Marloth Park which has no fences, allowing game animals to roam freely. Kruger Cottage is a private, self-catering house that comfortably sleeps six to eight guests. There is an open-plan living area and a vaulted thatch roof which form a comfortable common area that connects to a covered verandah with a splash pool and outdoor barbecue. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms Tiled floors throughout the house lead you to the verandah and pool where you can listen to the sounds of the hippos grunting in the river, the hooting of the owls and other wildlife as you enjoy the evening from the comfort of Kruger Cottage. The Crocodile River is a short 100 m walk from Kruger Cottage and it allows you an elevated view of all of the wildlife gathering at the water's edge. Take a morning walk or drive with a coffee cup in hand, bring your camera and binoculars and even a folding chair and be ready to see an amazing variety of bird life, as well as an abundance of larger animals. A local shop provides the basic essentials and if you wish to eat at a local restaurant, there are two lodges from which to choose. Kruger Cottage offers competitive rates. Accommodation consists of four self-catering chalets that are fully equipped with DStv, air-conditioning, braai facilities, a lapa and swimming pool. The chalets can each accommodate four people. We also have an old house that can accommodate 12 people in four bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. There are two sitting rooms with DStv and a fully equipped kitchen. The house has its own braai with a small garden. Indulge yourself in an Old World atmosphere of the former railway town. Stoep Café is one of the oldest houses in town, formerly residence to the railway doctors. Enjoy traditional South African cuisine at our restaurant. There is safe parking with a night guard and space for boats and trailers.

A lovely and luxurious, three-bedroom house with air-conditioners, a splash pool and a four poster bed. It has a large viewing deck with a built-in barbecue where you are able to watch animals including zebra, warthog, various buck, monkeys and many more in the garden. We have tried to think of everything a family or a group of friends could need. There is a deck lounge and dining furniture for al fresco living while you can listen to the lions roaring from inside the Kruger National Park. The house is only a 100 m from the Crocodile River and a 20-minute drive from the Kruger Park gate. The house is serviced once a week. A minimum stay of three nights is required. There are two local stores and several lodge restaurants only minutes away. There is a nice restaurant at Ngwenya River Lodge, which is a 15-minute drive from the house on the way to the main Kruger Park entrance. Guided game viewing and fishing trips are locally available as are rafting, hot air ballooning, microlight flights and cultural tribal visits. There is also a lovely golf course nearby.

Centrally situated in the scenic little town of Hoedspruit, Raptors Wildlife Escapes 28 Apartment offers self-catering accommodation to guests. It provides a bushveld experience while still offering modern conveniences. This is a perfect base to enjoy day trips to the world famous attractions in the area such as the Kruger National Park Orpen Gate 69km away and the Blyde Canyon’s attractions of God’s Window, the three rondavels and the Bourke Luck Potholes 135km away. Alternatively, you can do absolutely nothing but relax in this private self-contained apartment. The private apartment is fully furnished and is fully serviced daily on request. The kitchen features an oven, stove, fridge, microwave and a toaster, as well as a coffee machine, kettle and washing machine. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels and free uncapped Wi-Fi is available. There are also numerous restaurants and shops within walking distance. Downstairs there is a large open plan kitchen and lounge area. A spiral staircase will take you upstairs to the bedroom which has a super-king extra length bed with a mosquito net and an en-suite private bathroom with a shower. The apartment overlooks a quiet private garden which is regularly visited by local wildlife such as packs of banded mongooses, vervet monkeys and porcupines. These can be viewed from the patio which has braai/barbeque facilities. Free parking for at least two vehicles is available on site. There are many game reserves in the area and excursions such as game drives and walking with cheetahs can be arranged on request. There are numerous other attractions in the area such as the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, Moholoholo Rehab Centre and Jessica the Hippo. There are also restaurants, shops and a beauty spa within walking distance.

With its close proximity to Swaziland, Maputo and the Kruger National Park, 3309 Eland makes an ideal base for day trips. This tranquil hideaway in the bushveld offers plenty of opportunities to watch free-roaming zebra, giraffe, kudu, impala, and of course the warthogs in their natural habitat. The house is a short walk from the Crocodile River, where elephants can be seen almost daily coming down to bathe and drink. This single storey self-catering house can accommodate up to six people comfortably, with an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining room with air-conditioning. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with single beds and ceiling fans. The master bedroom which has a king-size bed and is also air-conditioned. There are two bathrooms within the house allowing you to choose between a shower or a bath. If you are looking for relaxation and enjoyment of nature with all the comforts of home, Reverie Safari Lodge is the place for you. Decorated with pieces from all over Africa, the house is finished in warm colors and furnished with an eclectic collection of antiques and modern furnishings, including an iron stove converted to electricity, air-conditioners in the bedrooms and the best mattresses available for a good night’s sleep. There are two bedrooms, a loft with an additional bed and two full bathrooms. And like all other houses in Marloth Park, we are close to the Kruger National Park and we have regular animal visitors such as kudu, zebra, warthogs, monkeys and giraffes, while hundreds of birds make their home in all of the trees surrounding the house. We are located within a stone’s throw of Lionspruit which is the private game reserve for Marloth Park and home to four of the Big 5. The house rests between an open plain of parkland where animals come to graze or drink at our pond and a summer river with its special riverine biosphere. The house is surrounded by large shade trees, keeping it cool and providing plenty of privacy. Decks at the front and rear extend the house into the outdoors and an outdoor shower allows you to fully enjoy nature.
