Things to do
Yes, you drive through this little town thinking, okay, it's so small, until you put on your walking shoes and start walking. First the sand on the dirt roads is in your face but then you see the way how these people live the cutest little houses with wooden shutters and picket fences. The people are friendly and have a lot to say. The slaghuis makes the nicest droe wors and the biltong is nice too. If you want to watch rugby and have a beer, the windmill pub and grill is the place to go. The Plaas Stoep has lekker boere food. The antique shop such an interesting little shop. Then there's the...

Looks run down
Not great - only one place to get Diesel and people parked in front of that went into the Co-op - could not get to it. The other station there was no Diesel available.Did not really like Fouriesburg as a town looked like it needed some TLC.

The undiscovered gem
Fouriesburg is an undiscovered gem, especially if you don't want to stay in the bigger or busier places like Bethlehem and Clarens. It is a brilliant place to use as 'base camp' and travel to Bethlehem [45 km], Clarens [35 km] or the Lesotho border [8 km]. For Cherrie Festival time - Ficksburg is also quite close, just can't remember how far.I love photography, so I love going off the beaten track. The gravel roads in the area are well maintained. I did a gravel road trip to Paul Roux and on many of the roads going to farms - all of it without any hassle and all of it in a normal sedan.

Review of Fouriesburg
Fouriesburg is a very pretty little town, and efforts should be made to upgrade the infrastructure but to retain its character. What needs to be done is to clean-up the streets & sidewalks, and both home owners & business owners should participate in this effort. Municipality should promote the town and promote its tourist attractions.

Fouriesburg is 'n pragtige rustige klein dorpie, waar jy heerlik kan ontspan of baie pret kan he. Dit is ook ideaal as 'n trou "venue".
