Mount Ingwe Lodge is located 120 km from Port Elizabeth and 35 km from Patensie, a small country town in the Eastern Cape. It is also an easy drive from Jeffreys Bay and the Tsitsikamma National Park. With only nature all around, you will still find luxurious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms which were designed to bring Mother Nature into your resting place. Mount Ingwe Lodge offers two types of self-catering accommodation, namely the Country House and the Ingwe Chalet. The Country House features four cosy bedrooms, while the Ingwe Chalet is an intimate and relaxing retreat for a couple. Both accommodation options offer bed linen and towels, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with toilet and shower, fan, heater, hairdryer and a braai facility. By offering self catering, dinner bed and breakfast accommodation in our family unit, we make it possible for people from the city to enjoy the quiet of the Karoo. At quite a reasonable cost this is the ideal place to unwind & experience the vastness of the veld. Guests at Allendale have their own private entrance and shaded parking. The unit consist of a spacious double room and an open-plan lounge area with a kitchen. The lounge area also doubles up as sleeping space for two more people, children or adults alike. The en-suite bathroom consist of a spacious shower, a basin and toilet. The veranda area is ideal for just relaxing, or a braai while watching the sunset. Once you are at Allendale, you can enjoy the 10 000 ha of farm through going for short walks or for the more energetic, mountain biking in Jeep track or hiking into the mountains to name a few. The homestead and garden area gives lots of space for children to run around or enjoy the jungle gym and play area's. The brave and adventurous can enjoy a swim in our cement dam used mainly to irrigate the garden.

The unit features an en-suite bedroom with double or twin beds and is equipped with a fridge, oven and stove, microwave, and DStv. Off-street parking is provided and guests also have access to the swimming pool and outdoor barbecue facilities, as well as a half-pipe for the more adventurous. A cleaning and laundry service can also be provided upon request. We are located in Church Road in Walmer, one of Port Elizabeth's most distinguished neighbourhoods. St Francis Bay is a playground for dolphins and whales, and the bay has a magnificent beach that offers some of the safest bathing on the coast and some fine opportunities to fish on the rocks. Essentially a little holiday village, St Francis Bay includes a marina and a wonderful collection of white-walled thatched homes set right on the waters of the canals. The small boat harbour here offers sheltered anchorage for fishing vessels and other oceanic vessels.

The beaches are between 5 and 10 minutes’ walk away, with restaurants, bars and shops spilling over from the beaches into the town.

Guests can just relax and take in the beautiful natural surroundings and serenity, or they can enjoy an action packed outdoor adventure. Dolphins are an almost daily sight and whales are prolific in the winter months. Mountain bikers can make use of the kilometers of quiet, unpaved rural roads, passing beautiful dams, pastures and plantations. The area is extremely safe with no security concerns. There are a range of hiking trails to choose from, with the more leisurely trails enabling you to enjoy the magnificent ocean and mountain views. Other trails will take you into the forest or along the rugged and pristine coast where there is a good chance of seeing resident Cape clawless otter and rare Oyster Catcher birds. Other resident game includes bushbuck, steenbok, aardvark, rock hyrax, monkeys, porcupine, bush pig, caracal lynx and large-spotted genet.

Our nine chalets each consists of a living and dining area with a TV, leading to a tiled patio with a braai and secluded garden. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, two-plate stove, kettle, toaster, frying pan, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. If there is anything else you might need, we will try to provide it for you. There are two bedrooms with two double beds and one single bed, linen is provided. Some units have an extra convertible coach in the living area thus providing accommodation for up to four single people, two couples or a family of five. The bathrooms have a bath or shower.
