Here is a guest house with a difference. From the street it looks like three Victorian terrace houses, but when you step inside it is as though the place stretches out in front of you. The ceilings are high, the rooms generous and the décor, featured in many local and international travel magazines, is coloured with an African flourish. An African Villa is located in a quiet residential street within walking distance of the city centre and many local restaurants. The house and the staff have received many accolades for service and facilities, one of them being from the last three years' Tripadvisor “Traveller’s Choice Award”. An African Villa is also recommended by Frommer’s Guide, Lonely Planet and Greenwood Guide. There are three large common areas; a library with complimentary Internet access, a lounge with a complimentary taxi phone as well as port and sherry on offer at night, and a dining room where you will be greeted by a heart-warming full breakfast and a flickering fire in winter. In summer, breakfast is served outdoors in the peaceful courtyard beside the pool. There is also an honesty bar in the kitchen and complimentary cake available. We offer 13 en-suite rooms, of which five are Platinum Class, each with a full bathroom and balcony, two are Gold Class, each with a full bathroom, four are Silver Class, each with a shower room, and then there are the two Bronze Class rooms, each with a shower room facing a quiet street. The owners' manage the house personally and are always on call to help you make your Cape Town vacation memorable, and all of the staff enjoy their work and are generous with their time and talents. They can be found happily baking fresh goodies for breakfast and tea, making tea or coffee for you on arrival, carrying your luggage, directing you to the city, or booking restaurants, car rentals and tours for you. They will even drop off your laundry. Come and experience An African Villa and a memorable holiday.

Welcome to Parker Cottage. We’re a little different to the usual hotel or guest house experience; rather than being just a conventional place to sleep, we offer a very much unplugged, urban retreat right in the creative heart of Cape Town. So although we offer free and fast Internet, we don`t do minibars, piped music or even reception desks. We’re the kind of place where you can rediscover the art of conversation, endless breakfasts and total serenity. Parker Cottage is a social place too - our legendary wine evenings occur at least twice a week and there’s no cut-off time for our gourmet breakfasts either.

Perfectly positioned in the very heart of De Waterkant Village, The Charles is a private, intimate and original guest house. From the roof decks of The Charles, guests can enjoy beautiful city views, especially late afternoons when the city lights up and the evenings come alive. Positioned opposite the gorgeous al fresco styled Cape Quarter piazza and the flamboyant crowd at Manhattan’s Restaurant and bar, The Charles can be described as being the spirit of the village in a town that surely is the fun capital of Cape Town. The Charles was originally created by adjoining three adjacent historical houses, whilst maintaining the historical Georgian façade. Each room has an individual positioning and design, and the multi-leveled layout of the guest house is joined by inner and outer staircases. The interior styling is a mixture of original old Cape Cottage furniture, mostly oak, yellow wood, stink wood and pine, with some contemporary modern and African pieces. Today the style is described as eclectic and creates opportunity for the spaces to develop and flourish over time. Rooms feature a refreshment station with tea and coffee-making facilities, mini fridge, except in Traveller's Rooms, selected satellite TV, safe, hairdryer, ceiling fans or air-conditioning, built-in wall heaters or on request and DVD player.
