we stayed overnight in Ceres before heading to Klondyke Farm to do some cherry picking. I have to say knowing what I know now I would stay in Tulbagh, which is much smaller, prettier and with more restaurant/cafe options

Gorgeous Little Town
Ceres really is a stunning little town situated in between these magnificent mountain ranges. In Winter, the snow on the surrounding mountains is a sight to see! It is well worth the drive. If you come from Cape Town, drive back via Bainskloof and admire the amazing views of the mountains and valleys - as well as a rock that hangs over the road!

Ceres is a wonderful place and as a first time visitor to Ceres i was very impressed. The drive over Bainskloof from Cape Town to Ceres is a MUST for the most spectacular views in the world.

Great location for mountain biking and hiking
Ceres is in the heart of the fruit valley. The village is pleasant enough, but the real attractions in this area are the mountain biking ang hiking. Matroosberg is not too far from the village, and is almost always covered in snow in the winter. It has a challenging 4x4 route to the top! Eselfontein also offers great mountain biking routes!

Ideal place to stay for a couple of days. We only stayed there as a bird watching site, which wasn't as good as we expected.
