The friendly townsfolk of Barberton
We had not been to Barberton before but were on a special mission to discover it for two reasons. First was that my father had been posted there at an officers training camp in 1943 during the Second World War and secondly a friend (whom we had lost contact with but who we knew had retired on a farm near Barberton ) needed to be traced. We visited a church, the museum, the tennis-club pub, the post-office and chatted in the streets to Barbertons.
