Seeing the lighthouse was on my bucket list and so we did a one night stop over during our Cape road trip - I wish we had stayed a bit longer as it was our most relaxing stay. Struisbaai has the lovely sandy beaches and little fishing harbour and Agulhas has the rocks, lighthouse and the southern tip of Africa and the two towns run into each other. We could walk to the lighthouse from where we stayed as well as the rocky beach with tidal pools and a few restaurants and shops in main road Agulhas. Potpourri coffee & gift shop was my favourite gift shop of the whole trip. We found Agulhas...

    Peaceful and beautiful
Agulhas was absolutely lovely and restful. I enjoyed watching the sunrises and sunsets along the beach and near the lighthouse. It was a perfect retreat.

A place you can really getaway to
Agulhas is a place we visit often because of the quiet serenity and wide open spaces. The town is a quaint little town with very friendly people. Just walking along the beach picking shells is a very relaxing activity.

    Agulhas Review
L'Agulhas also called Cape AlgulhasL’Agulhas is the Southern most town in Africa. It is also the town nearest to the place where the Indian and Atlantic oceans officially meet. Early Portuguese seafarers called this dangerous cape, Golfo de Agulhas (Gulf of Needles) because of the many sharp rocks in the sea near the coast, and because in the 1400s the compass needle at this spot, showed only 6 degrees deviation between true North and magnetic North. Later because of French influence, the name was changed to L’Agulhas. This treacherous and wild coastline also known as the graveyard of Ships...

    Paradise!
If it is a total break from the rat race of the crazy cities, or simply because you want to experience a holiday away from the "must see", over-commercialised holiday attractions you're after, then L'Agulhas is the place you have been looking for! Here, at the Southern-most tip of Africa, we have no city lights (only street lights), no shopping centres, no pollution (as there is no industrial area or infrastructure for industrial development) and therefore, no crime! What we do have is an abundance of unique and rare fynbos vegetation, small wildlife, breath-taking coastlines, safe and beaut...
