Bulawayo Town of Bulawayo Province

Charming old lady. - Bulawayo is looking shabbier than it used to, but the streets are still wide, the iconic buildings and landmarks are still there and mostly in pretty good shape, and the the recommended hotels and restaurants are perfectly acceptable. I visited my old school, Townsend, which is looking fantastic and well maintained from the outside. The sky is as big and blue as it ever was - somehow the clouds always look whiter in Zim. Well worth a visit, and of course the beautiful Matobo's are nearby!

Marvelous! - We went to Matobo National Park for the rock art and there are marvelous caves to discover there! For some, like Nanke of Bambata, you definitely need a guide or scout to help you to find the location, but the landscapes are wonderful and the walk to the caves is a part of the pleasure. The cave of Silozwane, at the south of the park, is also very impressive. The view you have from there is the best of all. Don't miss Matobo if you go to Zimbabwe!

Getting better - First visit in 15 years and it needs a coat of paint, but we loved it and it is definitely worth a visit.

TELL US ABOUT BULAWAYO - Not worth another visit - the city and people are not friendly anymore. Such a shame.
