Zimbabwe Travel Guide

Zimbabwe is one of southern Africa’s most beautiful countries, depite it's notoriety as a country of political upheaval. Throughout it all, Zimbabweans still somehow maintain their tremendous strength, humour and resolve. As so few visitors come into the country, when they actually do, they are... Read more

Dete Town of Matabeleland North

Modest but clean - Modest but clean hotel for one night stopover. Be careful of the restaurant, I have been sick all night!

Victoria Falls Town of Matabeleland North

Above expectations... - We heard about non-availability of stuff, weak infra structure, harassing and bribe demanding police, but the reports were WRONG. There was not a single pothole on the road. The racks in the supermarkets were full. People were very warm and friendly. The best part is about the police. Passed 14 roadblocks and we were only stopped once (to produce the drivers licence and passport). Our GPS was not picking up the lodge so we checked the route with police and they were extremely helpful. IMPRESSED is what I am with my Vic Falls trip!

Rock magic - The recent fire meant very little game was seen, but the rock formations are always magical and breathtaking. Unfortunately the female gate attendant was rude, unhelpful and disinterested - not qualified for tourism.

Bulawayo Town of Bulawayo Province

Friendly people - We got lost looking for our accomodation, pulled in at a garage and were lucky enough to get precise directions to our venue. No street signs make Bulawayo very difficult to navigate but we survived, after all, Africa is not a place for sissies.

Siansowa Town of Zambia

Beautiful, rural & untouched - Siansowa, wild and untouched, forms part of the greater Gwembe Valley that stretches from Victoria Falls to below the Kariba Dam wall, an area still undeveloped and pristinely beautiful. Wildlife to be found in the area of Siansowa includes kudu, impala, puku, bushbuck, duiker, warthogs, ostrich and an abundance of resident birdlife. Looking for something exciting to do? Join a sunset cruise, or book for a dinner on a private island, explore all the surrounding islands' nooks and crannies by booking for a half day fishing trip, or take a tour of Zambia's largest commercial crocodile farm, located in the area. Take a walking safari on an island, or simply kick back, relax and enjoy the view from the shoreline.
