The clean country gives one the sense of safety. We loved travelling along the gravel roads to Fish River Canyon. The trip from Walvis Bay to Windhoek via Gamsberg Pass was the best I've experienced so far. Good roads overall, and friendly people.

Finding your way to the city after travelling through Namibia might make you feel like you have hit civilisation again after all the desolation common to Namibia. Good hub to restock. The city itself in comparisons to other cities is rather sleepy. I still managed to stay a few nights, and found a fair bit to do. It also boasts an amazing African restaurant, and some entertaining but rather sketchy nightlife!

Windhoek has an interesting history, excellent craft markets and a great cultural mix of people. It also has an array of well-known restaurants to choose from.
