I was in Vredenburg for an overnight stay (work) only BUT what little I saw of the town made me wish I could stay longer...just to holiday: Clean and well-kept, totally unexpected!

A town what we have not expected to be the size and beauty we found. To our surprise a well kept and neat place with excellent shopping facilities. Will return there next time again

Vredenburg is very welcoming, peaceful little town on West coast. It is surrounded by all the beautiful beaches on west coast like Laangebaan, Paternoster, Port Owen and Saldanha known for its deepest natural harbour in South africa globally and for Sea Harvest locally.
There are many nature reserves in surrounding areas West coast nature reserve and Cape columbine are one amongst them. Water sports and various boat trips to see nearby Islands are available and much more to explore.
Now during the flower season, this place is beautiful being situated on the hill, the view is fantastic here. Overlooking the sea at distance and fields with beautiful flowers in front.
Burg river canoeing is famous canoeing competition takes place every year. Jazz music festival was held here besides other local farm and Saturday markets.
Over all this is best place families can go for relaxation on West Coast, close to everything yet quiet and peaceful.
I can go on and on about the place but best is to come and explore yourself. Surely one wont go disappointed.

The roads are in dire need of some maintenance, but I found Vredenburg pleasant and clean. Well done Vredenburg.

The village is not much to see but it is a very good location from which to explore the West Coast. There are some good supermarkets and a huge shopping mall nearby.
