Description

Umhlanga Rocks is an upmarket seaside suburb that is just a 15-minute drive from the Durban’s centre. The main beach and promenade is fringed with luxury hotels and apartments, restaurants, sidewalk cafes, pubs and clubs. Families and overworked urbanites love the holiday vibe, warm Indian Ocean water, endless sunshine and nightlife.

The promenade is the best place for a beachfront jog or lazy walk, and leads to the Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve Nature Trail, a short stroll through coastal forest. Here you may spot numerous birds, vervet monkeys, and even small antelope.

Umhlanga is a sought after premier tourist and business destination on the North Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal just 20 minutes north of Durban. It is also situated just 15 minutes from the new King Shaka International airport. Umhlanga offers so much for the tourist and business man as it has the delightful village of Umhlanga and the Gateway Theatre of shopping. The business parks are situated on the hill overlooking the ocean. Umhlanga offers quick and easy access to Durban to visit the Stadium for rugby, Durban Exhibition Centre, ICC, (International Convention Centre), Kingsmead cricket grounds, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Suncoast Casino, Victoria Market, Ushaka Marine World and Wilsons Wharf. Access is also ideal for the N2 leading to the north coast for trips to the battlefields and game reserves. Travel inland leads to the Valley of a Thousand Hills and the Midlands Meander. Umhlanga is an excellent choice as it offers business, shopping, sandy beaches and rock pools, excellent restaurants, pavement cafes, piazzas, entertainment and relaxation in a tropical environment. It also has the unique and world famous Sharks Board. Come and join us in Umhlanga for business or pleasure and enjoy the best year round weather on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world overlooking the warm Indian Ocean. Umhlanga looks forward to welcoming you as our visitor.

Umhlanga Rocks - if you can be here, why would you want to be anywhere else? The beautiful seashore line, you can just drive down Umlanga rocks drive to see the beautiful birdseye view from the Ridge. Gateway shopping is a must, as you WILL find everything you need in one place. Now featuring the view to the Mabida stadium on a clear day.

Wide choice of accommodation from top hotels to wonderful friendly guest houses, like the Sandringham B&B. Spectacular gateway for shops and rocks. Stunning beach and village vibe to spice up your life. Casino and golf up the road. International and local airports a hop away. The best of everything for everyone.

Umhlanga is an awesome place, I love it and wish I could afford to move from Pretoria and buy a place close to the beach and amenities. My retirement dream. PS, Love the pubs.

This is my favorite destination in Durban. There is so much to do in Umhlanga. The promenade is great for walks and there are plenty of restaurants to pop in to for a lunch while overlooking the ocean. The streets are clean and it's a great setup with everything within walking distance.
