Beaches
in
Blue Bay (0.3 km from Pointe d’Esny) The crystal-clear blue water and fine sandy stretch bordered by takamaka trees have secured Pointe d'Esny Beach a 'must do' status while visiting Mauritius.
This small and largely residential beach neighbourhood has resisted large-scale development and has no hotels on its beaches.
The neighbouring village of Mahébourg is a great place to experience typical island life. Just a bit further is Pointe Cannon, marked by signs of the epic battle when French held back British warships.

Port Louis (38.9 km from Pointe d’Esny) Studio 44 Mauritius exhibits handmade glass creations including a selection of jewellery. Using Italian Glass, unique beads are individually created in a flame. Visitors are welcome to visit the artists at work. Lessons on how to make beads are on offer at the studio.
Beaches

Pereybere (50.4 km from Pointe d’Esny) Péreybère Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius offering excellent swimming conditions. Known as a family beach, it has a calm lagoon that is safe for small children to paddle in.
The white sandy beach consists of finely ground coral – it’s so soft, it's almost like velvet. Although it is popular and can get crowded on weekends, Péreybère Beach is a great place to chill under the shade of a coconut palm. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance.
