Carnarvon Museum was built in 1907 as a community hall for the Dutch Reformed Church. In 1973 it was donated to the municipality and turned into a museum. The museum exhibits the cultural history of Carnarvon, which is located in the Northern Cape Province. There are a variety of antiques on display, an old hearse that belonged to the Dutch Reformed Church, and other interesting remnant artifacts. The corbelled house outside the museum was removed from its original location on Biesiespputs farm, and rebuilt piece by piece at its present location by a local tradesman.
