A trip to Hartenbos during summer cannot be complete without a visit to the wildly entertaining Hartenbos Water park. For friends and family, nothing beats the thrill and fun of a water slide. From big to small, Hartenbos Water Park has something for everyone to enjoy.

Open all year round, the Keurbooms Canoe Trail is an exciting canoe excursion for adventure seekers.
Best done during the warmer months of the year, the canoe trail is about 7 km and takes 2 to 3 hours to complete each way. You may bring your own canoes, or you may rent a few. The route is very scenic, with occasional water rapids which are easily navigated by novice paddlers.
The overnight accommodation is called Whiskey Creek Cabin, and is bookable through Cape Nature. Essential items for the trip include warm clothes, water-friendly shoes, food and drinks, and sunscreen.
All bookings are done through Cape Nature’s central reservations.

The Storms River Mouth and Tsitsikamma National Park are a marine protected area filled with an abundance of colourful and inquisitive marine life making this dive site the Garden Route’s best kept secret.
Untouched Adventures offer full scuba gear hire, cylinder fills and guided dives. A variety of scuba courses are available ranging from 4-hour introductions to 4-day qualifying courses.
For a unique eco experience, Outeniqua Power Van rides is the thing to do. Currently this is one of the most popular attractions along the Garden Route.
Enjoy the Garden Route from the comfort of rail buses in exclusive groups. Travel into the Outeniqua Mountains, one of the most scenic railway passes in the country. Experience forests, passes, waterfalls and tunnels. Flora and fauna is prolific along the route.

Go wet and wild or mild on the Garden Route. Daring folk can enjoy really exciting slides, while less adventurous people can elect to move a little more slowly; from mild to wild, the park offers a 75m super-tube, a 25m mini-tube, the raging rapid tube, and aptly name kamikaze ride and a 12m free fall slide. For youngsters, there are mini versions of the free fall and kamikaze ride which for added safety lead into a separate baby pool. For those who prefer to stay dry, there are trampolines, jungle gyms and swings. A single entrance fee gives you access to the water slides and play park for the entire day. This is a great fun & affordable place for the entire family.
If quad bikes are your thing then experience the thrill and challenge of the 3.5km cross-country nature trail on a semi-automatic quad bike. There are bikes to suit everyone from the age of 8 upwards with a smaller track for the young or less experienced to whizz around. Braai facility and a takeaway kiosk are available. Please remember no glass or alcohol is permitted into the park.

Looking for hip and unusual things to do on the Garden Route? Segway Off-Road ECO-Tours offer guided tours on a Segway Personal Transporter, a great way to see the outdoors.
The Segway Personal Transporter is easy and safe to use. Before each tour, guests receive a thorough orientation from an experienced trainer.
Tours pass through the quaint Storms River Village, into the Tsitsikamma pine forest and over the historical Witteklip Bridge. Booking is essential.
Cola Beach is one of Sedgefield’s five beautiful beaches, all running into each other starting at Swartvlei Beach in the west to Platbank in the east. It never gets crowded, even in peak season. At low tide, it’s easy to walk the 6 km stretch.
Access to Cola Beach is via a long boardwalk with a decent viewpoint and bench at the top. Rock and surf fishing is a popular activity, with a number of good spots at rocky points towards Platbank and Groenvlei.

The Galjoen Trail is a 12 km beach walk along the Goukamma Nature Reserve coastline. Before setting off, check the local tide table, as there is a possibility of being stranded against cliffs at spring high tide. Plan to arrange transport back to the start or return by walking.

Best known as the end of the multi-day Otter Trail, the secluded Nature's Valley Beach stretches from the mouth of the Groot River to the mouth of the Salt River. Anglers have the option of rock and surf fishing, and even fly fishing in the lagoon. Don't miss getting there before sunset armed with a picnic, a bottle of wine and a blanket.

Set in the heart of the Garden Route, the George Golf Club course is a beautifully manicured, 72 par course with 18 holes and bent greens. The course rating for men is either 70 (club – 5774m) or 72 (championship – 6100m), while that for the ladies is 72 (5188m).Visitors are welcome daily, with the exception of Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, which are reserved for members and their guests. Booking for golf is essential. Please note that no group bookings are allowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.Caddies and motorised golf carts are available for hire at the Pro Shop, as well as clubs and trolleys. Golf carts must be booked well in advance due to a small fleet of carts available at the club. The Pro Shop also sells golfing equipment.
