This is a great place to live and spend a vacation in Cape Town. Great neighbourhood, safe and quite while it takes a couple of minutes to go to great restaurants and bars on Kloof Street. The city center is also very close. It takes several minutes to get to the Table Mountain Cable Car, and 10 minutes to Camps Bay. Of course, you need to have a rental car while there, but I think this is true for any location in Cape Town.

This is a tremendous area but with many hills and stairs, particularly if you are in the sixties.

Tamboerskloof is central to most areas in Cape Town and is a good base to stay and explore from. It also has a magical view of Table Mountain and a very friendly neighbourhood - from owners walking their dogs to quaint little deli's and café's nestled in between beautiful old buildings.
