Strand

Description

Strand, Afrikaans for beach, is all about spending many hours on the beach and not much else. During summer, especially over school holidays and weekends, the white sand is sardine-packed with beach goers.

If you’ve had your fill of soaking up the sun, get to one of the surf schools for a few fun lessons or hire a surfboard and catch a wave. A number of restaurants line the beachfront and there's an excellent seafood restaurant near the pier.

Young kids will love the Waterslides and Fun Park on Strand Beach. There are four different rides covering all ages, a pool for little ones, corner for parents to chill with their tots and grassy areas for picnics.

The Strand as a destination

We personally love the Strand area and think it one of the best locations to stay at while exploring and visiting the Cape Peninsula. It has good access to Cape Town, airport, Stellenbosch, Francshoek, winelands, Hermanus, and a good shopping area. On a clear and windless day it also offers the beautiful beach to enjoy, stroll along or just sit and watch the other people going up and down!

Beautiful. Just pick the right time of the year to avoid the wind.
