Our first visit was 4 years prior and we took hundreds of photo's thinking "been there, done that." It took seconds to start planning this trip when friend asked us to take them. Truly worth doing it again as we feel so blessed to have had the means to soak in all the beauty of this breathtaking, well kept beauty. We will be back...............

One of my dreams was to visit Sossusvlei and I did it.
I enjoyed every minute, and the minutes there are precious, you do not have much time to waste. Be there as early as possible, the entrance opens at 6:15 in the morning. At 10:30 I could not move a step more in the sun. It was mid November with 40 degrees temperature.
The colour and the shapes of the dunes are truly unforgettable. I feel so fortunate...

The dunes are amazing, Go as early in the day as you can. But getting there is the real adventure. Namibia has the craziest and most diverse geological formations of anywhere I've ever traveled. The road from the Coast to Sossusvlei was filled one-of-a-kind sights. Be sure to bring lots of cash with you to the dunes because the trucks that take you from the last parking lot to Sossusvlei cost money and we didn't know that and almost missed the final ride to the dunes because we didn't have enough cash to give the truck driver.

Ek gaan verseker weer terug soontoe.

Great destination spot. Arrive early as it gets very hot early. Best to arrive at sunrise.

We took the guide book's advice and arrived at the gates at sunrise. The dunes with their dark shadows were spectacular and as we drove down the tarred road the scenery just got better and better. The climb up to Dead Vlei was definitely worth it, possibly better than Sossusvlei itself because of the pure white pan. When we returned to the main gate at midday the dunes looked good, but not as amazing as earlier.

This is one of those places that simply has to be visited. Here nature is at its best. Life's expectations are met in the beauty and purpose of a single grain of sand. I loved it.

Sossusvlei itself is an enormous picturesque pan flanked by towering sand dunes. Climb the high dunes and you’ll almost get a bird’s eye view of this seemingly endless and beautiful red sea of sand. Be prepared for fine red dust in every pore.

This is possibly one of Namibia's most popular tourist destinations. And when you have been you would know why. This reserve consist of the most amazing dunes I've ever seen. Early mornings and late afternoon are the best time to go. You can walk up these dunes and check out the surrounding areas. You are more than likely lucky enough to spot the beautiful Gemsbok too!

Sossusvlei has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Climbing the sand dunes and watching the sun rise is an awesome experience. Although it can be very uncomfortable when the wind picks up and the sand blows everywhere.
