Directions to Thaba Metsi Nature Reserve

Take the N1 north towards Polokwane:

• Continue past the Carousel and the Montsole traffic control point;
• Take the second off-ramp after the Montsole traffic control point , which is the Settlers/Warmbaths turn-off;
• Turn towards Warmbaths and continue until the T-junction with the waterfront in front of you;
• Turn right, go over the railway bridge and at the first traffic light, turn right again;
• Continue on this road, it will lead you out of town towards Nylstroom/Modimolle;
• After approximately 7 km you will see an ATKV Klein Kariba sign on your left;
• Turn right onto the Eersbewoond Road, continue for 3 km, pass Marula Mountain Village and then look out for the next entrance to your right;
• There are two boards at the entrance, one for Wimpie and Hettie de Jager and one for Thaba Metsi;
• Continue over the railway line and be sure to watch out for approaching trains;
• Arrive at the white gates and blow your hooter for attention.

Travelling through the Kranskop Tollgate:

• Take the N1 north towards Polokwane;
• Continue past the Carousel and the Montsole traffic control point;
• Continue until the Kranskop Toll Plaza, keep to your left and exit the freeway towards Modimolle - the toll fee is approximately R 5.70;
• Keep to your left, where the turn-off comes to an end;
• Turn left in the direction of Modimolle and continue for 3 km until you see the Eersebewoon turn-off to your left;
• Turn left onto Eersbewoond Road and continue for 14 km;
• The Thaba Metsi board is on your left;
• Continue over the railway line and be sure to watch out for approaching trains;
• Arrive at the white gates and blow your hooter for attention.
