Directions to Haus Bergfrieden

Haus Bergfrieden is located in Wakkerstroom, a small town on the border to KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, and close to the border of the Free State Province. It is 272km South of Johannesburg. Take the N3 to Heidelberg/Durban, then take the Balfour turn-off from the Highway. Continue into Standerton. Follow the signage to Volksrust / KwaZulu-Natal. Continue to Volksrust. At the entrance of Volksrust, take the first street left at the first robot. This street runs through Volksrust as the Main Street. At the last robot in this street. (On the corner you will see Pep Stores) turn left again,continue to the last robot in this street and turn right .Then you go straight on with the tar road to Wakkerstroom.Wakkerstroom is 27km South East of Volksrust. When entering Wakkerstroom, look out for a white-and-blue Haus Bergfrieden sign on the left hand side of the road. This sign is just in front of a Rock Hut with the sign 'Mucky Duck'. Turn right at the sign. Haus Bergfrieden is on the corner of the next street, on the right hand side. You will recognize it immediately from the lovely garden and black tile roof. Turn in at the motor gate where you will see a white pillar on each side of the road.
