Directions to Semane Lodge

A) From George Travelling eastward on the N2 from Cape Town take the George Airport turnoff, before the turnoff for the town of George. Pass George Airport and then Fancourt Golf Estate and take the left turn towards ‘Outeniqua Pass’. Drive up the steep Outeniqua Pass and down the other side and continue towards Uniondale on the N9. Take the right turn onto the R62 towards ‘Joubertina’; and drive 79 km towards Joubertina on the R62 Langkloof Road. About half a kilometer before Joubertina look out for the ‘Onderkouga’ sign on the left hand side and turn onto a dirt road. Drive exactly 13.3km on this dirt road, through the hamlet of Kransfontein till you reach the turnoff on the left signposted ‘Mbewu Fields’. Drive through the gate and down 1.1km to the riverside and ‘Semane Lodge’. Ma Mkhize, your host will be waiting for you with a hot cup of tea and muffins. (B) From Port Elizabeth Travelling westward on the N2 from Port Elizabeth take the turnoff onto the R62 signposted ‘Kareedouw’. Continue into the hills and at Kareedouw turn left on the R62 towards ‘Joubertina’. Bypass Joubertina on the R62 and lookout for the signs half a kilometer beyond Joubertina marked ‘Onderkouga’. Turn right here onto a dirt road. Drive exactly 13.3km on this dirt road, through the hamlet of Kransfontein till you reach the turnoff on the left signposted ‘Mbewu Fields’.
