Middelburg is a small town nestled in the middle of the great karoo. It is mainly a supply town to the farms around the town. It is a town with great history and cultural heritage. It serves as a great stop-over town for travelers traveling from the northern provinces to the coastal areas especialy connecting to the garden route. The world class guesthouses and lodging serves a tired traveler with great relaxation, tranquality and beauty of the surrounding landscape. Due to the location and the absence of the city lights, the stars provides an unparalleled romantic atmosphere and provides the perfect oppertunity for stargazing or starlite dinners. Middelburg is truly a beautiful location and rests the soul like no other place in the country!!!

Got there late so did not see much but had a walk about in the morning and liked the old Dutch-style buildings. Would recomend a visit.
