Its really a lovely town. Very quite a peaceful. Lots of lovely little restaurants. You need to walk through the town to appreciate its beauty. It's one of our favorite places. The donkey sanctuary was a total hit with our little son.

There are few places quite like McGregor. Eccentric folk, safe lanes in which to walk, lovely wineries, quiet hills, great restaurants and gardens and it is all slightly off the beaten track and yet only 15 mins from Robertson. Go and stay in what has been described as the jewel of the Western Cape. It is that simple.

A quiet "artists" town with lots of jewels if you're willing to dig deep. Beautiful galleries and speciality gift shops. A visit to the Old Mill and the Donkey Sanctuary is a must.
