We had an amazing time based in Livingstone. It more than exceeded our expectations.

We had a very enjoyable stay in and around Livingstone. The Victoria Falls are, of course, magnificent and the town has all the facilities you might expect. However we found the curio touts outside the Livingstone Museum (which was very interesting) annoying and the constant hassling also took the pleasure out of browsing at the curio stalls in town.

Livingstone is a world-class tourist destination, with a huge amount of activities. All the locals we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful. All the activities we participated in, were well organized and executed. Apart from the chaos that is the Zambian customs and immigration at Katima Mulilo, I cannot recall a single unpleasant memory of our stay in Zambia and Livingstone.

We had the most incredible experience with not only the people of Livingstone , but Zambians in general.
We had the misfortune of a wheel coming off our bakkie , this resulted in us spending two day's on the roadside, some 90 k's out of Livingstone.
The amount of assistance we were offered was incredible and included , actual manual labour, driving me to Livingstone and back to the car with parts and just coming to check on us.

OfferThrough SafariNow.com we booked and stayed at the Sunbird Lodge in Livingston for 2 nights. We had a roomy apartment at the back of the main house. The ownwers made us very welcome and the place was fresh and clean althouh everything was old and n bot run down.
Livingston is a quaint little town just over the Zambian border. The main through road is lined with interesting shops and stalls .There is a lovely African Art Market in which we spent an enjoyable afternoon and came awy with lovely souveniers which did not cost us a fortune. The town definitely has an African vibe. The people are friendly and helpfull.Lots of car taxis around -- all in the same sky blue -- it does make a statement.!!
From Livingston towards the Victoria Falls you drive past beautifull vistas over the River which there is wide and tranquil. But a little further along one sees and hears the Smoke that Thunders from behind --- before it tumbles down into the gorge.
And then you reach the Park en trance.Again friendly people.Less crowds than on the Zimbabwin side.
But absolutely spectacular views on the several walks and climbs to different sections of the Falls. The Park is well maintained and clean facilities was welcome.
I can recommend stayng in Livingston for a real African ezperience .There are very upmarket Hotels but also more affordable accommodation.

Livingstone can be said to be one of Africa's great tourist towns.
It boasts of the mighty Victoria Falls, wildlife reserves and a rich history as well as adventurous activities ranging from elephant rides and wild walks with lions to air charters and bungee jumping.
Livingstone also has accommodation ranging from budget to 4/5 star and essential facilities; banks, Forex bureaus and shopping malls are well within easy rich.

Simply put Livingstone is a place to go to for all sorts of entertainment, you name it, its there. What i like the most about Livingstone is that it is not seasonal, the place is happening all year round.

Livingstone is a busy hub of international tourists but still manages to remain an essentially African city where animals, particularly elephants can be seen roaming next to the busy streets. Livingstone is unique as I can experience much of what Africa has to offer in this little town.

The attraction of Livingstone is undeniably the Victoria Falls and the history of this beautiful place. The Zambian people are very welcoming and friendly, it was nice to be able to move about a small African town without being hasseled for money. It is basic with one shopping centre, our car hire at the airport was disappointing as our reserved car was rented to somebody else and the replacement wasn't good. The hotel was in a lovely position, although 5 star they didn't provide an airport shuttle service. Not much choice of restaurants to eat in in town but you are able to eat in other hotels. English is the primary language used, and breakfast on the Victoria Falls and swimming in the pools of warm water is an experience not to missed.

Livingstone is the tourist capital of zambia. Our place is located in the beautful place of Zambia; the home of the Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world.
Located five minutes drive from the town center,10 minutes to the Victoria Falls, otherwise known as mosi- o- tunya the smoke that thunders and 10 minutes from the airport. Found in the mosi- o- tunya nation park, where mukuni big five is a home to different wildlife. Which is the only park with white lions in zambia.
We also offer tour activities to our clients.

Livingstone really is the heart of Africa, with the Zambezi and the Victoria Falls pumping huge volumes of life-giving water and energy into southern Africa. Its people are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Wild animals live in close proximity, protected in national parks and game reserves or sometimes casually strolling through town (in particular elephants), holding up the traffic!
It is a busy, colourful town shaded by huge orange-flamed Muzaule (Flamboyant) trees. We stayed at an unusual self-catering hideaway right on the Zambezi called ‘Mama Out of Africa’ and enjoyed wonderful meals in lovely restaurant gardens in town, occasionally splashing out at the über-luxurious Royal Livingstone. Highlights were a walk with lions and cheetahs, a Zambian cooking course (more Visashi anyone?) and sunset cruises with the most astonishing sunsets on the Zambezi. The adrenalin-hungry got their kicks with bungee jumping and the white water rafting.
All that, along with the sights and smells of the African bush, the birdlife, the grunting of the hippo and the cackling of hyena and jackal in the dead of night! We just loved the combination of the action packed times and the relaxing serenity of the bush.

Amazing town ... probably biased ... grew up there as a child ... went back after 40 plus years ... found very little change ... maybe a few new Malls ... but still has absolute charm ... people of the town exceptionally friendly.
