Hilton is probably one of the oldest of Bloemfontein's suburbs, and originally was the suburb of choice for more affluent. Many old Victorian & Tudor style mansions graced the main street, mostly all were owned by former Ostrich Feather kings of the day. Hilton is now a mixture of old and young , rich and poor, and has many light industries.
