Vredehoek/Gardens is very central & really nice when you're exploring Cape Town. It's close to the Company Gardens and other historical things to see in CBD. You must stop in at Truth Coffee, Raptor Room, Dog's Bollocks to name but a few. The Castle is nearby as well as the train station and bus routes. You are also not far from V & A Waterfront.
