Worn out
Scarlett Deurinck, South Africa - 07 October 2012
We stayed 4 night in a Josmont Heights unit, which aren't the nicest ones. Our unit was worn out and dirty. The heated pool is too small for all the guests. The pool area of the hotel is bigger but crowded with day visitors. Except the nice play ground it was a bit of a disappointment for us. It is cheap though.
Great for family budget

Montagu Springs is a lovely place to take the family. It felt like a safe place away from home. My children loved the freedom they had to ride bikes and play on the grounds. I appreciated the break and fresh air for all. The staff was very warm, friendly and helpful. Everyone really did their best to make our stay enjoyable. The grounds are well kept. A huge highlight for me was the warmest pool in all of South Africa. Absolutely worth the extra rand for the daily fee. It was relaxing even in the evening. Just be mindful that the large and small Plattenberg structures will remind you of a trailer park. Inside the flats, everything is clean and inviting. We especially loved having our own braai. I must say that you can't judge a book by its cover because Montagu Springs gave me the most relaxing two days a mom could ask for.

Montagu Springs
Montagu Springs is an affordable self-catering resort located just two hours away from Cape Town, in the heart of the famous Route 62. This scenic alternative to the N2 highway is also the longest wine route in the Western Cape, producing outstanding wines from the harmoniously balanced terrain and mild climate. Montagu, home of the famous Muscadel, is close to both the Robertson Wine Valley and Breede River Valley and is long known for its hot springs and, more recently, for eco, wellness and adventure sports.

Each chalet features a private barbecue area, with larger barbecue drums on wheels available on request for larger numbers. The fully furnished self-catering chalets all have fully equipped kitchens, private barbecue facilities, and heating and cooling air-conditioning throughout. The open-plan living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. The chalets vary in price, starting from the great value Small Plettenbergs to the luxuriously private Villas.

Pedal cars, imported from Italy, are great fun for the entire family and are available for hire, along with a variety of bicycles and mountain bikes. Three tennis courts can be enjoyed during the day and in the evening with floodlights, and guests also have access to various hot, cold and kiddies pools. Golden Terrace guests have exclusive use of a private pool and Villa guests have exclusive use of the Villa pool located on the Villa Terrace set against the mountainside. Add the various award-winning hot and cold pools and daily bird-feeding, and Montagu Springs is the perfect resort destination for the entire family.
