The house was nice and clean. We only slept over for the night. Frank the host was very friendly and was happy to help.

Thank you for a lovely stay. The Log Cabin unit, was neat, clean and well equipped with all the basics. Although finishings and furniture a bit dated and mattresses on the “well used” side, kitchenware, linnens and towels were fresh and new. Just two suggestions-when raining, no cover at the braai making it difficult to keep the fire going and socialise around the braai. Perhaps provide something portable like a small webber to be used on the deck. Also, unfortunately no trout to fish :( We realize that a while before our visit dam levels had been very low and some fish died, however restocking the dams will definitely motivate avid fly-fishing guests to return. Our city-dogs had a blast, just keep them on leash when venturing further on the farm as they can end up climbing through fences and also end up in the river!

Lovely place for a weekend relaxing. On Saturday, a group of "day visitors" braai next to the dam with very loud music that spoiled our day.

I would like to suggest a covering of some type at the braai area as you cannot braai when it rains, otherwise it was excellent. Great hospitality. Everything was clean & neat and anything you looked for in the kitchen (equipment wise) was available. A very pleasant stay.

We decided to go to troutways on the last minute, made our booking 2hours before arriving there. They were so accommodating and friendly - we settled right in. The house was equiped with everything we could possibly need and everything was just so easy. Our 2year old LOVED the friendly ducks that visited us quite often. We haven't felt so relaxed in a very long time. I would recommend troutways to anyone. We are already contemplating our next visit. Thank you Troutways!!!

This is a lovely place if you want some peace and quiet. We had a very good stay and everything was totally fine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Troutways Private Retreat. Although we didn't fish, the dams look well kept and we did see some large fish near the water surface. We went for long walks with our dogs, the grounds are beautiful with surrounding mountains. The farm animals are all such characters and the farm feels very authentic with them around. There are geese and pigs that walk around but all seem to mind their own business. We felt honoured to have the company of the farm dogs Buster and Jessica who happily accompanied us on our walks but always keeping a following distance as though they are considerate and making sure they don't disturb. Little Moses the staffie is such a bundle of love and also happy to pass on cuddles should you require any. We had excellent service from all the staff who were friendly and always offering to help. Micky the farm manager is very hospitable and hard working, she goes out of her way to make the guests feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble for her. Awesome week! Beautiful scenery, perfect dams for fishing, great accommodation, rock climbing for the kids was awesome! Manager on the farm, Rudolph was very helpful & friendly. Just loved all the farm animals! Baster and Jessica just the greatest dogs, boys just wanna bring Baster home!

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Troutways. The accommodation was very good. Service by the staff was excellent. But for our tour program, we would have enjoyed staying for much longer. We will recommend Troutways to our friends.

Beautiful beautiful beautiful area. Biking paradise and really an area full of potential. Still one of those little forgotten places where you can see yesterday's memories clearly. Accommodation was great,the house have everything you will ever need for such a breakaway. The owners and staff are also ever friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend break at Troutways! The weather was excellent, the fishing was good (31 fish between the three of us) and the farm animals were delightful. Jan was also always in attendance and looked after us like a grandpa. I’m pretty sure we’ll be visiting again sometime.

We had a wonderful weekend at your lodge. Everything was clean and well tendered with beautiful views over the mountains and dams. The fishing was also excellent and all fisherman enjoyed success.

Where can you possibly go to get away from the madness of Jo'burg and not encounter anyone else for two whole days? It was so peaceful and relaxing! I can't remember the last time that had such a great weekend away!

Good mattresses and bed linen. Lovely setting. Enjoyed it as a family weekend where we could enjoy one another's company without interference. Helpful staff. Housekeeping a bonus!
