A gem
Ashley George, South Africa - 09 April 2013
After a long drive from Windhoek we arrived at Bethanie to be greated by the owners and given the opportunity to choose our air conditioned room. We then proceeded into lovely garden/thatch area for an ice cold beer and a swim. The owners have lovingly restored the guesthouse which is warm and welcoming and if you enjoy antique furniture you will love browsing around the place. A very restful atmosphere and the food helpings are very generous and extremely tasty. The staff are full of smiles and nothing is too much trouble. This is a little gem not to be missed.
Good value for money

Good value for money for overnight stay - nothing else you can do.
A wonderful excuse to visit Bethanie

Bethanie Guesthouse and Beer Garden is a delightful place to stay. We arrived dusty and weary from a long, hot journey on the road and were met with smiles, an air-conditioned room and a cold beer. The food was excellent, the staff in the kitchen work hard to create delicious meals with a strong South African flavour. Our room was comfortable and clean. Highly recommended.

Bethanie Guesthouse & Beer Garden
Known as the very first hotel to be built in Namibia, Bethanie Guesthouse is situated at the center of all the tourist attractions in the south, like the breathtaking Fish River Canyon, the rocky shores of Luderitz, and Sossusvlei with its unforgettable sand dunes.

The guest house was originally built before 1880 and is therefore one of the oldest in Namibia. Bethanie is a small town with a rich historical background against the backdrop of beautiful mountains, breathtaking sunsets and starlit skies at night.

We offer fully furnished, en-suite rooms, seven of which are air-conditioned. Meals are enjoyed outside at the lapa restaurant area, with a bar where we serve home-cooked meals and open-fire dishes. There is a superb swimming pool available to guests if they feel the need to cool off. The guest house also has a tea/beer garden with a well-stocked bar and DStv.

Along with the many scenic trips one can make in the area, there are some more activities available such as quad biking, hiking, horse riding, 4x4-ing, and birdwatching.
