Hubby surprise
Maré Van der Merwe, South Africa - 07 April 2012
My sister, her husband and my hubby and I had a double wedding 34 years ago and decided to surpise the two spouses on our way to Cape Town. We chose Tradouw Guest House. What a pleasant experience! Clean, cosy, friendly host, Leon, and a great breakfast! Highly recommended. Thanks, Leon, we will see you again.

Tradouw Guesthouse and Garden Cafe
Situated in the heart of Barrydale on the R62, the Tradouw Guesthouse is a perfect place to visit as one explores the Little Karoo.

Enjoy this original Cape Karoo-style building which once housed the local trading store back in the late 1800's, now converted to a comfortable rustic guest house with six shower en-suite bedrooms with private entrances.

There is a licensed bar where one can enjoy drinks before heading into town. There is a guest lounge with a large, open fireplace for the chilly winter evenings and a TV and various board games to keep you entertained. The guest house boasts a large garden where you can relax with a book and enjoy the Karoo air.

We are close to Warmwaterberg Hot Springs, The Labyrinth and Peace Pagoda. There are four hiking trails varying in distance for guests to explore; we will gladly pack you a picnic lunch to enjoy on your hike. Barrydale is situated at the foot of the Tradouws Pass where one can take a dip in some natural rock pools and enjoy the scenery. There are some fine coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance of the guest house.
