Great place to stay with your family. We stayed in 1x6 sleeper guesthouse that was river facing and quiet spacious. The only concern I found was that the rooms have double beds which gets a bit uncomfortable if you are used to your own space. We had a small baby with us so it was difficult for us to adjust her on the bed. The rooms are a bit airy so it gets cold at night.

Kwambali was a fantastic experience, it is quiet and peaceful, the accomodation was of the best and the services were great for the wives (lol, no house work). The garden was spectacular. Kwambali is based at the right spot for many adventures, some even within walking distance. Thanks Kwambali, I will most definitely visit again.

We had a 4 night stay at Kwambali Lodge from 28 Dec - 1 Jan. The accommodation is VERY basic. Ceiling fans not working and no airconditioner. Only one bathroom for 6 people with only a shower so not ideal for people with young children. Beds are very uncomfortable and bedding is old and discoloured giving you the impression that its dirty. As our departure date was on New Years day the staff seemed very eager to get us out as quick as possible and made a point of coming to remind us at 09:25 that we had to be out by 10:00 (which we were and most definitely didn't appreciate them being on our case). I think we paid far too much money for such "low budget accommodation", even with it being peak season they cannot justify the price that we were charged.
We welcome guest's comments and constantly make improvements based on this. In this instance the guest knew before they booked that the cottage had one bathroom with shower and no airconditioning.
As this was the last available cottage for the period booked, the guest was told in the quote as well as confirmation that this cottage only has one bathroom with a shower (unlike our other two bed cottages that have two en-suite bathrooms). It is also stated clearly that cottages has showers only and fans.
The accommodation includes a kitchen with fridge/freezer, mini-stove with oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. The cottage has a TV with DStv and DVD player. We supply all linen and towels and cottages are cleaned daily. How can this be described as 'VERY basic' and 'low budget'? Our prices are very competitive when compared to other establishments in the area.
The bedding in the cottage in question is less than six months old and by no means discoloured. The fan in the lounge was not working and as no electricians were available we provided the guest with a standard fan.
The guest was reminded at 9:45 that check-out was 10am. It is unfortunate that the guest sees a friendly reminder of check-out time as being on their case.
Great location and well-equipped accommodation

Nice cosy bungalow set in a lovely landscape with views of the river. The kitchen was well catered and the rooms were spacious. The location really suited us as we travelled one way for the waterfalls in Sabie and the other way for Hazy View and the Kruger National park. We weren't lucky enough to see any hippos during our stay but we did see the crocodile!

We arrived a day late for our stay at Kwambali. On arrival we were welcomed at the friendly reception and offered an extension of one day to accommodate the day lost.
Our stay was great, accommodation wonderful and the staff always willing to assist and friendly.
Will definitely return and recommend to others.

Unfortunately the showers are not up to standard. We did not even have a shower curtain and this even after we requested one form your cleaning staff. Also I think the pots and pans need replacing.
We value guest comments as it helps us improve our service.
We are in the process of upgrading our bathrooms, which include fitting glass shower doors. All older showers are fitted with shower curtains, which are removed regularly to be washed and are re-hung the same day. Cottages are cleaned daily and cleaning staff report any problems to management.
Maintenance records show that a replacement curtain was fitted on the day Ms Jagwant moved to the cottage after the previous guests ripped the curtain. It takes less than five minutes to hang a shower curtain and there is no way that a guest will be left without a shower curtain for FIVE days!
Cottages are equipped with 3 saucepans as well as a frying pan. Should guests require additional cookware they are welcome to request it from reception.
No problems were reported to reception or the owners (all numbers are printed in the information folder in the cottage).
As part of our normal check-out procedure, the guest was asked if there were any problems during their stay and nothing was said to reception staff at the time.

We had a great weekend staying in Kwambali Lodge. Very central on the Panorama Route as well as the Phabeni Gate of Kruger National Park. Accommodation very clean and neat. Food at the restaurant very very good, special mention to the carpaccio, chicken livers and traditional Bobotie. Special thanks to Barrie Monaghan and staff for their hospitality and special thanks for the champagne on by daughter's birthday. We can really higly recommend Kwambali Riverside Lodge.

Nice and ideal location because you are just near to Hazyview town to buy and shop whatever you want and just 30KM to Sabie and Graskop (Panorama route), just 23KM from Phabeni gate.
Other than that people are very nice cooperative in all situations, cleaned and good crockery. Only in night first day I feel its bit dark but after that its normal Ideal to stay in cottages from 5-9.
I really enjoy stay here and my kids also enjoy all the area, one must go and enjoy there.

I want to thank Barry and Elma for the wonderful, relaxed few days we had at Kwambali. It is one of the few places that one can relax with no "white noise" around. The sound of the river is wonderful. Best holiday we've had in years!

It was a wonderful place to relax, away from the crowds. It had a very tranquil atmosphere with the singing birds and the sound of flowing river turbulence.
