All Comments for Shangri-La Country Hotel

My husband and I checked in at Shangari-la country on the 24- 26 May.2013 The outside environment was impressive. We were very disappointed about the cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are very filthy, bad housekeeping, carpets very very dirty. The room we slept in had thick dust under each and every piece of furniture including the bed. Before we checked out, we decided to take the matter up with the housekeeping manager who seemed to be in denial and less interested. We were talking to her and started to keep her self busy with her cellphone. We got excellent service from restaurant staff. Also thanks to Jacob the receptionist. He did his best to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. But we decided not to go back there again.

A place of peace and tranquility is what you can expect at Shangri-la, but that is it. The rooms are not luxuriant as what you would expect at a Protea hotel or comparing it to the other Protea hotels. Restaurant food only goes to as much as a one course buffet, anything after that do not expect more. Service at reception is poor, I am still waiting for them to send someone to iron my laundry after a request and all paperwork have been submitted. Finally, the environment is beautiful and quite and would like to thank them for the time there, but it was the last time.

Shangri-La has a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable rates. I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone. I will certainly go back in future!
