Booked for one night between flights and found this to be excellent value and a very reliable pick-up and drop off at the airport. Had a great breakfast before leaving and would highly recommend.

I was amazed by the hospitality of the guest house team, the cleanliness and, most importantly, the homely environment.

I was warmly met at the airport and safely taken to the hotel, which took no time at all. I felt welcomed by the host and all of the staff. The room was cool, comfortable, clean and a lovely surprise. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were again very friendly. My only regret is that my stay was only one night out of necessity. i have already recommended your establishment to friends both in SA and UK. Thank you very much, Tina

We stayed for a night before an early morning flight.The next day we forgot our tickets in the room,and the very friendly staff went back and returned to the airport with our tickets - our stupidity and their wonderful help!

Staff were friendly and the accommodation was fine, in fact excellent value for money. We stayed two nights; one before a trip to the Kruger and one on our return before flying out of JNB. Our extra luggage was stored safely at EGH while we were in the KNP. One warning though, we had an evening meal in the EGH on our second night and it was a disaster. The food was served cold and even if it had been warm it would have barely been adequate. However, this is no reason not to use this guest house for a stopover between flights at JNB.

It was very good.

We arrived at the lodge quite late, after our wedding ceremony and post wedding celebrations. Our host were waiting patiently for us. The rooms were clean and tidy and we had no problems. The next day we were timeously transported to the airport.

Very conveinient for an airport stopover and the use of the free shuttle is perfect

This is the 3rd time I stayed at Emerald Guest House travelling to S.A. and I have never been disappointed and will always highly recommend them.

Fine, especially for a large family, starting their holiday after a tiring flight.

Stay was fine directions were good, Rooms bit tired but fine for overnight and ideally situated for the airport. Breakfast fine. The staff very helpful with instructions to garage and airport even let us hose down the hire car ready to return it.

Will definitely stay over again, hopefully sometime November/December.

Ideal if you need somewhere to stay near Jo'burg airport.

We were picked up at the airport and in 5 minutes you are there.Good rooms.The people are very friendly and interested in our requirements. It was a very good experience.If I go to Joburg I will go there

Accomodation good and people friendly but noise from airport spoilt our stay!

It was very enjoyable! Thank you for the drive to the Airport so early in the morning!

Wonderful pick up and delivery to the airport, cheerful staff, good plain food, and nearness to the airport are the pluses. Nearness to the airport also means that the noise of planes lifting off keeps one awake until about 11 pm or so. The lack of air conditioning and screeens means that heat is a problem, and in opening the windows small things can crawl or fly in. Better in cooler weather than hot weather, but a good value.

We found the Emerald Guest House a relaxing and pleasant place to stay. It's proximity to the airport was tremendously convenient. But above all we found Nico and all the staff very friendly and obliging. Staying at Emerald was a great start and finish to our time in South Africa.

We stayed only one night in transit. Emerald GH was very convenient for the airport. The arrangements went smoothly and they were very accommodating as we did not leave until late next morning, allowing us to store our luggage and making a special trip to drive us to the airport. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

We were only for one night at the Emerald Guest House but the experience was o.k. We were met at the airport by Nico and we slept well. The next morning he brought us back to the airport. The service was excellent. Thank you very much.

Very convenient to airport, friendly atmosphere, and total relaxed attitude to everything. No restrictions posted, reasonable rates, rooms pleasent, but basic.

This l´palace was a perfect start for our holidas in SA. It's nice and clean and the airport shuttle from the airport and back to the car rental in the morning helps to get used to drive on the left side.

Actually, we enjoyed the stay at Emerald very much. Nice people and a very good room with bathroom. There was even a nice terrace to sit outside. There was only one minor issue: the noise from the airplanes. But then again, the choice for to stay a night at Emerald was that it is very near JHB airport.

I would highly recommend Emerald Guest House. The facilities are quite nice, and the people are outstanding! I arrived on a very late flight at JNB, and my luggage was lost so I got through Customs almost an hour after the first passengers. How great it was to have my Emerald Guest House driver STILL waiting for me! They were very helpful the next day also, offering a lot of help as I tried to figure out how to get my luggage. I would definitely stay there again.

We began our tour in Emerald Guest House and we ended there. The rooms are nice, breakfast is good and dinner is rather poor. Good quality for the paid price.

Clean and nice rooms, beautiful place! Friendly people and - I didn´t believe it before: really just 5 minutes from the airport! Guests should notice that there is some noise of all the airplanes, but this is normal if you sleep close to an airport... Will come back soon!

Well located for an over night stop from the airport. After a long journey it was great to be met and the taken back to the airport next day- a great service. Our room ( well house actually) was basic but huge and well equiped. Could easily have used as self catering base for exploring JHB . Excellent value for money

We were met promptly at Johannesburg International Airport. A warm welcome awaited us at Emerald Guest House where we taken to a comfortable room in attractive surroundings.

It was great to be met at the airport no waiting around. Quickly arrived at Emerald quick check in. Basic room but totally adequate for overnight stay. Breakfast was self serve with plenty of choice cereals toast jams etc. and even freshly cooked bacon and eggs. Very pleasant breakfast room. Taken back to airport at our choice of time. Pleasant staff and all told great value for money would definetly stay again.

Really close to the airport. Missing some good heater in winter time. Bedrooms were a little bit cold. Breakfast only from 7:00 am, so not possible to take it if you've got an early flight. +: Shuttle service to/from airport for free.

Very helpful proprietors - even though the request for confirmation of my booking arrived after we had left for SA & they didn't know when we would arrive until the day. Our arrrival was delayed (I let them know by phone)until after 10pm but this wasn't a problem and we were welcomed warmly. We were taken to the airport the next day when we wanted - and it is literally a five minute journey. Thank you for being so relaxed!

This establishment provides superb value for money, offering a comfortable stay, with a whole heap of friendlyness thrown in for good measure. We will most definitely use them again in the future. The airport shuttle is a godsend!
