My daughter and I had a lovely stay overnight at The Sabie Townhouse. Both Irene and Murray were very friendly and helpful with information of the best places to visit and to eat at in the evening. I would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay in Sabie

Although we only stayed one night, we enjoyed the stay very much. Irene and Murray are super hosts. Would have liked to have chatted to Murray much more than I did, an interesting fellow! Comfortable room, very spacious and clean. Super breakfast.

We stayed for three nights in the Sabie Townhouse. We enjoyed the very personal, kind and caring atmosphere our hosts Murray and Irene offered us. The breakfast box Irene made for us for our trip to the Kruger Park, was so full that we had enough for the whole day. If we ever come back to Sabie, we'll surely visit the Sabie Townhouse again. Thanks for contributing to beautiful memories of SA.

Awesome
Trevor thantsa, South Africa - 08 December 2008
We went down to enjoy a biking weekend, and this place was just awesome. The bed was very comfortable after a full day's riding; with clean fresh linen, and clean towels in the bathroom. Everything was just impeccable. In the mornings, a full English breakfast with muffins, pancakes is the order of the day. Totally wicked...would definitely visit them again!
Rustic guesthouse
Martina Hummel, Germany - 06 December 2008
This is a nice guesthouse where the furnitures are rustic and the kitchen is HUGE! There is room to hang around the pool. The hosts were very very friendly - we felt at home. The rooms are well equipped and tidy. It is not luxury but very recommendable. Enjoy a great, variegated breakfast with wonderful cakes, muffins, pancakes, cereals, fruits...

The Sabie Townhouse
Murray and Irene offer guests a warm personal welcome to our lovely, distinctive home, constructed of river stone and local timber, peacefully situated overlooking the stunning natural beauty of the Sabie Gorge.

From the verandah you can catch a glimpse of the hyrax enjoying the early morning sunshine, the occasional fish eagle calling and we have even been lucky enough to have a hippo wander by. Or you may like to take a short stroll across open bushveld to sit on the rocks and admire the gorge and river below.

The emphasis of our spacious rooms is to give guests comfort and a place to relax and feel at home. All have a separate private entrance and the majority overlooks the lush gardens. Family suites are available so children and most welcome. Sumptuous breakfasts are served either in the dining room or on the verandah overlooking the swimming pool. We offer Christian values and hospitality.

The Sabie Townhouse is within walking distance of Sabie village with its selection of shops and a very good choice of restaurants. Sabie is a small, relaxed and friendly town set among the pine covered Drakensberg mountains of Mpumalanga. Our cool mountain air is fresh and pollution free and sparkling water ensures that Sabie remains free of malaria and bilharzia. The summer climate in Sabie is delightful, warm days and cooler nights, while winters are even better, with early morning mists curling through the mountains.

Within a 10 km radius of Sabie are a selection of truly beautiful natural waterfalls, some of which include delightful walks through the forests. There are many picturesque routes to neighbouring towns such as White River, Hazyview and Graskop. Sabie is within an hour of the Panorama Route which is one of the scenic highlights of any tour through South Africa, stretching along the escarpment it includes some magnificent tourist attractions such as Blyde River Canyon, with its famous Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, the Three Rondavels, and nearby historic Pilgrims Rest.

Also within an hour is the world famous Greater Kruger National Park – two million hectares offering a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. The park is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals.

We will gladly help you plan your excursions, or put you in touch with local tour operators. At the end of your day, why not take a dip in our pool, enjoy a sundowner overlooking the Sabie Gorge whilst unwinding and reflecting on your day’s exploration and planning your next day’s exciting venture. We strongly urge you to “linger a little longer” in our area and enjoy the popular tourist attractions and adventure activities.
