Shoddy - couldn't wait to leave

This was - by a long margin - the worst accommodation of our entire trip. When I pulled the covers back on the bed, a family of silverfish came running out from below the pillow.
We arrived during load shedding - not the owner's fault - but, given that South Africans are accustomed to load shedding there might have been a lantern, a torch or some sort of contingency for guests' convenience. We woke up and there was still load shedding so I showered by the light of the torch on my phone and we left.
Perhaps this was a tactic. Keep guests in the dark so that they don't notice how little care has gone into the accommodation. However, even by torch light, I was able to see that there was mould on the wall by the sink and around and above the shower.
It's a shame because with not very much effort this could be a really nice place.
I'm not generally this negative - I'll give credit where it's due. The pub at the end of the village, for example, didn't look like much but produced a superb Durban curry. However, the Nature's Valley Guest House was disappointing and we left as early as we could.
Super vacation

was not happy to share one bathroom with 2 men friends [2] as we booked three 3 bedrooms and got only one bathroom to share. Bathroom very old fashion. toilet seat wobble.
breakfast was bad as no extra cold meats and cheeses. "they say it melts away ;-) in the winderness area. we laughed at that answer

we were disappointed to find such a lovely place on the outside not matching the interior. Our room was spacious, but very outdated. Linen was a poor quality and very old. Bath towels were frayed and old. Surface clean only. Loads of dust and spiderwebs when you only move any furniture an inch. I had to move the bed to check for more spiders after a huge spider appeared on the headboard. Found the space behind headboard and under the bed to be covered in layers of dust and spiderwebs. We never met our hosts, but for a brief "Hi, here is your room. Use the lounge if you want" That was it! Still don't know a name or how I would inform them when things were not ok. Very disappointing, given the beautiful outside setting.
Friendly & cosy

Our party was greeted with smiles when we arrived after a long drive. The guest house is situated in a beautiful nature setting and the lapa ensured some cosy braai dinners. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms are homely. It was a pleasant stay and we'll definitely make use of Nature's Valley Guest House again.
Nice place to stay in nature's Valley

The owners were friendly and allowed us to use kitchen to prepare dinners. The location is fantastic, big green garden and near the beach. The room was small for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 small kids) and the interior is a bit dated with a few things to be repaired.
Pretty but needs some care

Thoroughy enjoyed our visit. Our host and hostess were charming and we met some really interesting people. The accommodation and breakfasts are not pretentious. would defintely return there, and recommend to anyone passing through Nature's Valley. To our great delight we had several sightings in the garden of the Knysna Loerie (or Turaco as it is now known?). Was an added bonus for us!
Enjoyable
