Mahebourg is great if you want to experience the local life. The proprietors of Auberge Le Saladier are very helpful provide a wealth of tourist advice. The accommodation is comfortable and great value for money.

What a wonderful stay! The guesthouse is simple, but does the job really well. Rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is French and tasty. The owners are personable, intelligent, friendly, and highly professional. 15 minutes from the airport in an authentic, non-touristy town. I toured the whole island for a week before, but enjoyed Mahebourg the most. Le Saladier's airport transfer is also much more affordable than any other taxi company. I would go out of my way to stay there again.

I had a very short transit and needed a place to get a few hours sleep. The Auberge Le Saladier was an insoired choice. The friendly staff were waiting at the airport at 01h45 and delivered me back again at 06h30. Comfortable and clean. I can recommend this hotel.
