There place is wonderful
What a mission
Wendy Scott - Monday, 04 January 2021
From the moment we arrived we struggled. When we arrived at reception the person behind the counter had no idea how to handle a safari now booking. They also didn't know how the covid for ms work so we all had to fill in both a booking form and a COVID form. When it came to paying the remainder of the account we were informed that the card machine was out of order, so I suggest I pay the balance on the safari now website, which I did but it took me a long to explain to the reception how the website worked and that one could see I had payed the balance. Next was the hunt for the keys. He had no idea which keus were the right keys for our unit and had to call in a lady to assist. Once we got to the unit we found that it was rather dusty and had not been cleaned before our arrival. Next we found that the kitchen light didn't work, when we asked him to replace it he stared at us blankly. So we came up with the solution of swapping it with the outside light bulb. When we opened the kitchen light we knew why it was not working, it was filled with water which he proceeded to spill all over the floor no matter how much we told him to hold it upright so it would not spill out. He then grabed the dish cloth and used that to wipe up all the filthy water that he had spilled. At this point we had had our fill of him and bid him farewell. It was a moments after this that we discovered the unit didn't have a kettle even though tea and coffee were provided but rather than have another episode we boiled water on the stove using a pot. It was after tea that we found that one of the bed mattresses was totally wrecked, it would totally collapse as one lay on it. So we went back to reception to ask for a replacement. The person there told us that we could swap it out with another unit but that he needed the mattress in case someone else booked, we could not believe he was still going to try use that mattress. So the mattresses were swapped and he left with the broken one and we were left to remake the bed. Thankfully that was the end of the events and we could sleep and leave at first light.
The place is well situated enroute Punda Maria gate
Mochabo Mogadima - Tuesday, 22 December 2020
It seems the original idea to build this lodge was great but now it lacks more for tourists attractions. The reception has no tourist information and nothing is said about the location or nearby attractions.
what they need to upgrades
Livhuwani Mudau - Monday, 16 November 2020
I loved the design of the room. What they need ti upgrade is to hire more workers because the area is dirty. The rooms was not clean enough. And also saw the big snake which means people are not safe.
Great location
Petunia Sadiki - Sunday, 04 October 2020
We had a good weekend though we arrived to a dirty cottage, some maintenance is needed to keep the place great. The curtain rail at the main door and the bedroom is broken. Kitchen blinds does not work and the stoves needs to be secured properly, the tap on the kitchen zinc also needs some attention so the tap is not wiggling as it is currently. Please provide some dishcloths and dishwashing soap or specify that you don't provide so that people know what they need to bring with. Upkeeking of the swimming pool is important. Day visitors needs to be out at 22:00 not talking loudly and driving around the lodge until 03:00, that makes one restless as the gate is not locked. The double beds(two single combined) needs to be changed, one is too hard and the other is finished and they are not of the same length so one cannot sleep in the middle of the bed.
Great location with a mountain view.
Muthomphei Raphala - Sunday, 01 December 2019
This place offers a great value for money. Swimming pools are shared with day visitors - a pool reserved for guests only is needed.
Great for a rest
Marcus Ngoepe - Tuesday, 14 May 2019
The location is great for an overnight rest to Punda Maria, under advertised, some good changes do not appear on online. Had a great rest just before continuing.

A great stay at Copacopa, I had a wonderful time. I liked that the lodge was set in a rural area a lovely location. The service was really amazing the people are so friendly. I loved the silence and the peacefulness, it was just what I needed. I wish I could have stayed longer.

lisa van Wyk, South Africa - Thursday, 01 May 2014
We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for just one night but the reception was wonderful, and everyone was helpful and made us feel welcome. The security gentleman (sorry I forgot his name) popped in every now and then to see if we were fine - super. Thank you again for the stay.
Not in thohoyandou
Christo Esterhuizen, South Africa - Monday, 20 January 2014
Great for a sleep over. only rated it 2 star just for the fact that they advertise it in thohoyandou, where they are 63km away.
Thank you

We (5 men) arrived late, left early and were very comfortable. Thank you.
A LOVELY 7 DAYS AT COPACOPA LUXURY LODGE
Mr jossel - Sunday, 28 July 2013
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon only to be met by a most welcoming receptionist, who showed the accommodation that was available to us. The room we chose was excellent and extremely comfortable and that evening we had dinner in the dining room, which was pretty enjoyable.
We met the one owner of the lodge, and what a pleasant person he was. He directed us to the nearest gate into the Kruger Park, Punda Maria and found the staff manning the gate full of smiles and helpful. We had such a pleasant day that we went into the park every day that we were there.
My wife and I can wholly recommend this lodge to anyone who wants a most enjoyable and restful break.
Excellent service
stefanie van schalkwyk, South Africa - Monday, 03 December 2012
We stayed at Copacopa for Friday and Saturday evening. We received excellent service - the staff are very helpful and friendly. Meisie, the cook, was wonderful. Her food was excellent. Thanks to all the staff.
Friendliest place
Michael Calamia, South Africa - Thursday, 27 September 2012
We experienced the most friendly service at Copacopa Lodge. In addition to the staff making us feel welcome, we also felt wanted there and the care was exceptional. Every request was quickly handled and they delivered exactly what we asked for and wanted. Rooms are comfortable, the grounds are beautiful. Thank you so much for a great time and place to rest!
Welcoming, helpful staff, location not so good
ANNE-MAREE THOM, Australia - Wednesday, 04 July 2012
Staff were very helpful and accommodating, bedding very comfortable, room clean but mosquito net did not fit bed and there were quite a lot of mosquitoes around, staff quickly provided insect spray. The lodge is positioned out of town and the area did not feel very safe. Dinner was arranged on request and nice.

The receptionist and guards were super friendly!
Very nice!
Colleen Smith, South Africa - Monday, 03 October 2011
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were cosy and spotless. We only had breakfast, so cannot really comment on food.
Great
Colin Nel, South Africa - Thursday, 09 June 2011
The food was excellent and it was a great place to stay. Very peaceful. Thanks.
Overnight stay prior to Kruger NP
Mrs Edwards - Monday, 30 November 2009
Accommodation was fit for purpose, but cramped. Staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough - washed our car, provided a plug-in mosquito device and gave us an electric fan when it became obvious the ceiling fan in the room was far from sufficient. Also sorted out the lack of water in the bathroom straightaway so that we could shower. Dont agree with the \luxury lodge\" description
