Perfect hospitality

Great hospitality, beautiful views, very comfortable rooms, enormous - and delicious - breakfasts and an easy-going atmosphere. Enough cosy indoor space to make for a pleasant stay even in cold weather and a lovely deck, pretty garden, and of course the river, for relaxing in the sun. We had three generations in our party of five - from age 26 to 80 - and we all enjoyed a wonderful, restful stay. I would highly recommend Riverside Lodge for families and groups looking to enjoy their own private rooms and share the pubic spaces.

Riverside Lodge is beautifully situated in Amsterdamhoek on the banks of the Swartkops River, and is just 2km away from Bluewaterbay beach. With the stunning river views and abundant bird life we are able to offer our guests a unique and tranquil home away from home. Riverside Lodge is 15 minutes drive from Port Elizabeth airport, casino and entertainment complex, beach front, the Oceanarium, major shopping centres and places of interest. We are an hour drive from Addo National Park, and the Shamwari and Amakhala Game Reserves. River fishing is highly recommended and the river abounds with Grunter and Cob.
Riverside Lodge offers the following services and amenities to our guests: Comfortable double rooms all with en-suite bathrooms, TV, tea & coffee facilities. Delicious breakfasts are served and dinners are on request. There is a comfortable guest lounge overlooking the river. Thatched dining room with a choice of either indoor or balcony seating overlooking the river – sensational. Solar heated plunge pool, Jacuzzi and indoor and outdoor braai facilities. Laundry service, telephone, fax and email facilities - wireless connection is available. Walks along the river to the beach or through the Aloe Nature Trail which runs behind the property are stunning. Conferencing for up to 20 people.
