A very relaxing and cozy place with great hospitality. Ideal for getting away from the busy everyday life. Close to Panorama Route. Whether you are single or a couple, with or without kids, I definitely recommend it.

Debbie and Bob are lovely people, they went out of their way to make us welcome. The lodge itself is stunning. We enjoyed the fishing!
Wonderful break-away

Wonderful location nestled in the valley - near a private 70m water fall. Debbie & Bob were gracious hosts and their 5-course dinners a delectable treat: Haute cuisine for sure. The estate is serenely calm and is a great venue to get away from the mad city rush. We would certainly recommend it.
Gunyatoo - Magical
Naas Tredoux, South Africa - 05 January 2010
Debbie and Bob were born to be B&B hosts! We had an amazing time at their beautiful home! Dropping down into the valley between the large pines was like entering into a secret world. One of our families highlights was visiting one of the amazing waterfalls close to their home. The waterfall drops at least 60-70 meters! Before the fall are rock pools for the kids to swim in and you can walk in behind the falls. Also a great retreat for Mountain bikers. All in all the visit was fabulous and the food divine. Will definitely be back!

Although we were a bit lost on our way to Gunyatoo, we've enjoyed our stay. Love the fisherman's cottage not to mention the great view. Thanks Debbie for the warm reception. A big thanks to Hendrick for always lending a hand, not forgetting your intelligent dog Coco. On behalf of myself (Antonio) Uncle and the rest of the crew a BIG THANKS and see you soon.
Excellent accommodation

with good food and a delightful host. We stayed in lodge with full board including ample wine. It is off the beaten track being4 km down a dirt track but this adds to the attraction of the place. Other visitors stayed in the cottage but had little luck fishing.
Highly recommended

Gunyatoo Trout Farm & Guest Lodge
Gunyatoo Trout Farm & Lodge, is the perfect country getaway presenting a charming fly-fishing, birding and nature retreat. Nestled in the picturesque, and malaria free Rhenosterhoek valley (just off Long Tom Pass - between Lydenburg and Sabie - 40km from Nelspruit). The guest lodge is ideally positioned for access to most tourist attractions that Mpumalanga has to offer, including Kruger National Park, Pilgrims Rest, Sudwala Caves & the Panorama Route. The thatch & stone lodge offers luxurious, yet affordable accommodation. Recently refurbished with several suites, all with beautiful views of the surrounding pine forests. Rooms, all en-suite, have their own private patio, perfect for "feet up" early morning cuppas. For those requiring self-catering, a fully equipped, four sleeper, family cottage is available. The fisherman's cottage, which sleeps up to eight, offers a more rustic self-catering option. It is secluded at the edge of property, at the trout dams & raceways, and is ideal for group fishing trips. The farm is a full working "trout-farm", comprising of a processing area, hatchery, nursery, raceways and naturally, for the enthusiastic fly fisherman—two stocked dams. Limited stream fishing is also available for the more experienced fisherman. Private fly fishing lessons and group clinics can be arranged on site. After a days fishing one can enjoy a drink at the bar, have a game of pool or darts then unwind in the sauna or swimming pool. Of course should it be chilly one can warm up around roaring log fires in the lounge. The lodge is just the place for a fishing vacation or weekend getaway, but any nature lover will find themselves in a proverbial paradise. For the sedentary tourist, relaxing on the wooden decked patio watching the abundant birdlife is a must. The Sabie area is truly a birders paradise. Not only is there a huge variety of the more common bird species, but a number of globally and nationally threatened species also occur in the area. For those in need of exercise, on farm trails and walks to the nearby waterfalls & caves are just as enjoyable but should you require additional stimulation: - Clay-pigeon shooting can be organized on site. Arrangements can be made for Quad Bike tours, horse riding, gorge-swinging, rafting & many more activities. Sudwala Caves, Fanie Botha Hiking Trail, Kruger National Park, Panaroma Drive, and the Emnotweni Casino, are all within an hour's drive. There are also a number of golf courses within a hour's drive from Sabie, making Gunyatoo an ideal central base for a memorable golfing holiday.
