Vvery chilled place loved the river! Nice staff Had a good time!
Lovely setting, great river activities but grubby and overpriced
Lex von Rudloff, Botswana - 10 January 2013
The setting is superb and the range of activities is good. The tented accommodation is a bit tatty, the linen not quite fresh, the toilet block yukky and there are unprotected electrical extension cables with very dangerous connections (wrapped in plastic bags!!)draped across the lawn and between the tents. The food at the restaurant was uninspiring and my pork spare ribs had a funny smell and gave me 2 days of diarrhea. Compared to other accommodation used on our trip, this was definitely not value for money! P.S. I have pictures of the electrical cables if you want to see them.
Not up to standard

The Rustic Hut was very disappointing, dirty and extremely hot. It was not well equipped with cutlery and crockery. The unit did have a beautiful view of the Orange River which made up for the terrible accommodation.
Beautiful stay

The personal service, the good food, the awesome view deck next to the river - all this makes it an excellent place to relax. Need to stay several days to really enjoy.

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the chalet set amongst the trees on the river bank, with plenty of birds and some small animals. Staff were very obliging to our requests for extra comforts, and the river guides friendly and easy-going. We are likely to return with the children for a more adventurous outing.

Khamkirri
Khamkirri is a river facing accommodation facility and camp, located on the banks of the Orange River offering the thirsty traveller a lush oasis on the green northern banks, with breathtaking vistas of the water and surrounding red Kalahari.

The calm river, with the occasional rising fish, can be seen from our sunset deck that belies the excitement and adventure of the river rafting trips that we offer. On such trips, you will meet our rapids named Whiskey, the Big Eddie, and Rhino, and these will certainly get your adrenaline pumping in the company of our experienced guides. Alternately, you can just hang out on the deck overhanging the river and watch it glide slowly.

Our comfortable facilities provide an ideal stopover to visit other attractions in the area, such as the Augrabies Waterfalls National Park a mere 45 km drive away, Riemvasmaak Hot Springs, as well as other destinations such as the Richtersveld, Namaqualand, the West Coast and Namibia.

Khamkirri offers a range of accommodation options and activities for the outdoor adventurer. We offer rustic river huts as well as camping facilities with fully- equipped ablutions. They include toilets, showers and basins, hot water and electricity. Our abundance of wildlife that often rest in the shade of our Camel Thorn and Quiver trees, makes for a very memorable breakaway.
