Very nice location, decent house, could have been cleaner, not serviced which should have been an option.....
Great stay

We had a very nice week at Amapalo Kruger Lodge. Our host was most helpful and we enjoyed our evening Game Drive on the river. The Lodge is most comfortable and roomy and it was nice to have the game animals roaming free in the area. It was also great to be so close to Kruger Park and be able to see animals roaming along the bank of the Crocodile River. We hope to revisit at some time soon in the future.

We had a great month's stay at the house. Game visited on an almost daily basis. Lindsey, Don and Trish really looked after us. The location is perfect because it is directly across from the Crocodile River. The newly added top viewing deck is great! I would suggest more comfortable furniture to have made the stay a bit more pleasant. Other than that, we had another great stay at Marloth Park. See you all again next year.
We will be back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of eight nights at Amapalo. The house is very comfortably furnished with lots of extras ensuring that we had everything we needed and more, while the attention to detail was most impressive. We were concerned that it may be hot during October but in spite of wonderful weather, we barely needed the air-conditioning and splash pool provided. Large shady trees encouraged a variety of birds to visit the garden and we had regular visits from small game. The house is a stone's throw from wonderful views across the Crocodile River where we watched and heard a wide variety of game. Many thanks to Lyndsay who acted quickly and efficiently in sorting out the problem of a baboon breaking into the house while we were out on a game drive. Just a reminder that we were in the bush where baboons can be a big problem! Their intelligence is outstanding when devising ways to get what they want so it was a reminder that they should never be underestimated and it is worth taking all precautions you can think of! We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay at the Amapolo Kruger Lodge. The house was very comfortable and is equipped with every thing needed. We had a very relaxing weekend and enjoyed our various animal visitors during our stay. We would definitely visit the house again in future, hopefully this time for a longer period.
Pure bliss in the bush!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days at Amapalo! The Lodge is neat & well equipped to make your stay comfy & fun. Fantastic location, basically on the banks of the Crocodile River - saw elephant, giraffe, buffalo on the river bank while sitting on the patio! Very much enjoyed the daily visits by the warthogs, zebra, impala, mongooses and mischievous little monkeys! A true gem in the bush... We will definitely be back!

We truly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Amapalo is well positioned with views across to the Kruger in front of the property. Zebras and warthogs came right up to the stoep within an hour of our arrival and came back frequently. We saw no less than four giraffes in front of another property up the road, drinking out of a pool! We heard lions roaring loudly on the 2nd night but saw them through binoculars eating a kill the following day from the viewsite. It was quite well situated for access to the Kruger Park but a relaxing time could also be spent in Marloth Park going for walks and mini game drives along to the view site. The house is well equipped and comfortable and the TV was a bonus for the evenings. My only surprise was finding both bathrooms downstairs, although the 2nd bedroom is upstairs.
Definitely great value for money.

Had all we needed for a relaxing few days in the bush. Had 4 zebras walk through the yard while playing in the splash pool. As my 5 year old said, "I didn't expected to have zebras in OUR yard!"
Awesome bush experience
Michelle Hart, South Africa - 23 March 2009
It was an awesome bush experience and very reasonable price for the luxurious accommodation at Amapalo Kruger Lodge. We would definitely recommend to all the nature lovers. On our arrival Paula and her husband greeted us in a very friendly manner and gave us a nice warm welcome, a BIG thanks to the both of them. On the last day the warthogs joined us for breakfast on the porch and that was an UNBELIEVABLE up and close experience with what is suppose to "wild” animals. Would definitely come again!
Just great

I truly enjoyed my stay at Amapalo Kruger Lodge. Paula was very friendly. My husband and I loved going for a drive on the river roads. Also loved all our daily visitors (animals). Marloth park is nice, the people are friendly. The lodge itself was great. It is big and spacious. We were delighted to find everything that we needed was there in the lodge. Only thing was the frying pans need replacing, all the non stick coating is gone.
It was fantastic,

Value for Money
Gavin Atkinson, South Africa - 05 January 2009
We had a pleasant stay in a well equipped house. It is well located near the river enabling you to see fantastic wildlife. The only negative comment would perhaps be that there should be more patio furniture for lounging around.
It was fantastic!

I had a great time and will be returning soon and telling others about it.
Felt at home at Amapalo Kruger Lodge
Edgar Blatt, Germany - 03 November 2008
Stayed for 1 week. Felt at home with almost everything we needed. Good basis to explore the area with southern Kruger and Swaziland. Patio furniture could have been more comfortable but over all a very good stay at a reasonable price.
Enjoyable

Very enjoyable..... even though the weather was not the best there is enough to make you feel at home in the lowveld....
Perfect experience

Mike Greenslade, United Kingdom - 10 August 2008
Great place to have a peaceful time ;especially in our case after a busy 10 nights touring all over and Game spotting in Kruger National park. Nice and quiet with added bonus of animals roaming around and great views across Crocodile River into Kruger Park itself. Good to have splash pool, kept our teenage boys occupied, when they were not watching the TV which was novel to them after 12 days without it! Lovely to sit and read on the balconies in the sun, and to have a BBQ in the evenings. Local shops were sufficient with the local butcher very cheap.
Very good
Salome de Jonge, South Africa - 29 June 2008
I enjoyed my stay in the beautiful lodge. I found everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. I must say that I never felt unsafe during my stay with the attacks that are happing in the area. I pray that these will be sorted out soon as it is a wonderful peaceful place to rest and convenient to go for day visits to the park. I will certainly return to Amapalo.
Very good

The wildlife was awesome and its really cool to wake up and see animals around the house. We got some really cool photos, fed some zebras, it was very hot (in January) but we enjoyed it, wish we could have stayed longer.

We had two overseas visitors with us and we all enjoyed the experience. We had Warthog visiting in the morning, monkeys in the afternoon and saw a lot of game in the Park and at the hide. The splash pool was a savour in the 41 degrees. Thank you all, we will be back. David & Janice
Amazing
Johan Roodt, South Africa - 03 October 2007
We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Could not believe all the animals roaming around freely close to the house. An amazing experience.
We'll be back next year!!
Sean & Kathy, South Africa - 23 September 2007
We where met at the lodge by a very friendly caretaker to welcome us and explain all the ins and outs and answer all my questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our family break. The lodge was spacious and homely. We enjoyed lovely walks in the reserve (wonderful away from the hectic city life). Had frequent visits from the locals, Zebra, Bushpig, Steenbok and our close relatives - the monkeys. It's a wonderful experience for the kids to see these animals up close. We saw more game from Marloth into Kruger than driving around the Kruger itself. We saw a herd of about 16 elephant, Buffalo, Waterbuck, Hippo, pride of Lion, Impala etc.
