Simple, comfortable accommodation, ideal for a weekend stay. Lovely views down towards Paternoster Bay from the back of the cottage where there is a nice braai area. Christa was very welcoming and attentive. Thank you!

More than just a self catering establisment
David Brookes, South Africa - 13 September 2014
From the moment we'd paid our deposit until we arrived, Christa kept in touch with friendly emails. On arrival we were met by Crista and shown around. She quickly took us to our verandah where we watched and photographed a most beautiful sunset. moments later we were on the opposite side of the house taking in the moonrise. it was the day before full moon and it was big and round. The next morning a magical big red moonset to to the background sounds and sights of the awakening birdlife just before dawn. Apart from this wonderful experience of nature we really enjoyed the clean comfortable and homely accomodation. Every thing one would expect from a first class self catering establisment and more was there for us to enjoy. Christa is a truly frienldy person and looked after us really well. Given the opportunity we would happily do it all again.
Beautiful

Cooper and I want to thank Christa and Johann Botha for an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL stay at their guesthouse, JOURNEY'S END in St Helena Bay. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the decor was just beautiful. The setting, with the panoramic vista is exquisite. They are warm and welcoming hosts, right down to the chocolates on each bedside table. We would recommend Journey's End anytime.

Eenheid uiters netjies en goed ingerig. Baie gasvrye eienaars. Beslis 'n aanbeveling. Sal weer besoek.

Hartlike ontvangs

Jammer dat ons net een nag kon bly, nietemin het Johan en Christa 'n goeie indruk gemaak. Alles was baie netjies en skoon, en die ontvangs was huislik. Hulle sal ons defnitief weer sien.
Bliss

We had the most wonderful stay with two wonderful hosts. Very relaxing and the dogs were in heaven with loads of space to explore. Sunset over Paternoster was beautiful.

Journey's End
Situated in the fishing town of St Helena Bay, guests will find Journey’s End. This lovely self-catering unit is located on a small holding on Britannica Heights and offers breathtaking views and sunsets over Paternoster and the ocean.

The spacious open-plan unit is fully equipped for self-catering and features a queen-size bed and a double sleeper couch, which can sleep one child or one extra adult. There is no separate bedroom.

The unit offers an en-suite shower, kitchenette with large fridge and freezer, mini stove with oven, microwave, dining area, 30 DStv channels and portable braai facilities on the patio. All linen and towels are provided, except beach towels. Tea, coffee and sugar is also provided. Small and medium dogs are welcome on request and there is a fenced area for the dogs to run around free.

St Helena Bay and surrounds has much to offer; such as white shell strewn beaches, calm waters with Heaveside's, Dusky and common dolphins visiting regularly. Humpback and Southern Right whales come to calve and mate from Aug-Nov and can be seen from the shore. July-October spring flowers in abundance after good rains. In our harbour, lovely fresh snoek can be bought straight from the boats during the snoek runs.

Plenty of crayfish during season. Visit the Berg River Estuary for a relaxing boat cruise up river, a bird watcher's paradise. Walking trails, cycling. Visit the Cape Columbine Lighthouse, nature reserve, Tietiesbaai and quaint town of Paternoster which is not far.

The West Coast National park is a must see. St. Helena Bay is the ideal base from which to explore the West Coast and outlying areas.
