Tofo Beach Accommodation

If there was some other route to get to Tofo if one could skip Maputo and the Lebombo border, this place would probably become my permanent holiday destination! Nonetheless, I still look forward to my next visit to this lovely place. Tofo is like nothing else; the people are very friendly and helpful, and the beach in the Tofo bay was the perfect place to escape the worries of the past year. The local salesmen may become too much at times, but they are all very trustworthy and you just need to learn how to work with them. We stayed at Casa Christine and this is a wonderful place for a family or a group of friends to relax and enjoy the Mozambican vibes. The large stoep is where we spent most of our time and the house is fully equipped with everything you may need. The housekeeper, Pedros, is very helpful and friendly and he helps you to get the best prices for local seafood and he also assists you in cleaning the fish. The only thing we struggled with was directions as soon as we arrived in Tofo. I recommend future visitors to avoid driving at night and a sign board might be helpful in such a case. Other than that, Casa Christine is highly recommended and we would love to visit it again in future!

Had a very memorable holiday in Tofo/Tofinho. Stayed in Casa Christine which is right opposite Tofinho's renowned surf point. The old thatched roof 'casa' has a lot of character. Its big under cover veranda was a big welcome to relax after long strolls down the beach to Tofo beach as well as night time with the cool sea breeze in your face. Enjoyed our stay in Casa Christine and would recommend it to any one, especially if you plan an all out surfing holiday to Tofinho due to its direct proximity to the break. We were delighted with Casa Derika and its fabulous position on the fantastic beach. It's a tropical dream spot. Adequate, simple furnishings, well-equipped holiday kitchen, very small bathroom. Pedro and the night guard are both very obliging and helpful. Could have had better bath and beach towels and a few beach chairs would have been great. We arrived in Tofo late at night and while we did manage to find Casa Derika in the dark (thanks to the satellite map provided), I think guests should be advised to come during daylight hours. Also guests driving from Maputo should be warned that the driving conditions are very tough and they should allow at least 8 or 9 hours.
