The nearby Umgeni Bird Park bears testimony to the number of birds that are still attracted to the area.
The generally moderate and rather humid climate lends itself to mild winters and affords good beach weather all year, especially during the months of January through to April. Sea temperatures vary slightly with minimums of about 18ºC in winter up to 24ºC.

No service, no breakfast, air-con not working!
We had wonderful stay and place was lovely the only thing which we had problem with is we arranged for room with window but when we got there the room which was were given had no window at all. When we enquired about it we were told that Safari were notified so not sure who dropped the ball between safari and marmalade. There were no soap or shower caps as well. A touch up of the above and awesome service will do this place wonders.
It was a very pleasant stay. The staff made us feel welcome and extended warm hospitality. We can recommend Marmalade Boutique Hotel.A thank you to all the staff at Marmalade Boutique Hotel.
We stayed in the Marmalade Suite. Wow! What great value for money and the staff are fantastic. There are a few things I noticed that need to be sorted but on the whole a wonderful and spacious stay. Thank you.
It would have been nice to know that the room we booked had no window and even though no other guests were due and we were the only couple we had to pay to upgrade to another room (with a window).Apart from the room situation, staff were very friendly and the facilities were neat and clean.
