Rushmere Farm Cottages

Rushmere Farm Cottages offers self-catering and bed and breakfast accommodation on a historic farm in the heart of the Garden Route, just 3 km from the N2 highway between Knysna and Sedgefield. The farm boasts beautiful views over pastures and mountains, as well as frontage on Ruigtevlei, a bird sanctuary on a little-known lake at the eastern end of Swartvlei.

Accommodation comprises two self-catering cottages and a thatched bed and breakfast cottage. The two self-catering cottages, Marie’s and Clementine, are semi-detached and very private. Each cottage is set in its own garden with beautiful views and much thought and effort has gone into the furnishings, from characterful cottage pieces to microwaves and dishwashers. All linen is provided and barbecue wood is supplied. Breakfast baskets and a laundry service can also be arranged if required. The bed and breakfast cottage, Pumula Cottage, is situated in the farmhouse garden and is a delightful little thatched cottage ideal for a couple.

Canoes are available at our picnic site by the lake side, and birders will delight in spotting many different species in our richly varied habitats. Walk up the hill for exceptional views, relax next to the farmhouse pool, or set off to enjoy what the Garden Route has to offer. Rushmere is also well-situated for forests, fairways and the best beaches in the area.
