Taaiboschfontein is a working Karoo sheep farm located in the Three Sisters area at the foot of the Nuweveld Mountains. Come experience the peacefulness and tranquility of the Karoo in all its glory where your hosts, Markus and Nelia Fourie, will make you feel at home.

Apart from its sheep farming activities, the farm also forms part of the Kromriver Riverine Rabbit Conservancy in a beautiful part of the Karoo which is rich in animal and bird life and includes a growing aloe and tree nursery. Guests are welcome to enjoy a mountain drive, climb a mountain or just sit and watch the stars.

Braai packs are available for self-catering for R55.00 per person and farm products are available from the Nelia shop.

We arrived very late and the hosts were very helpful in providing directions and leaving lights on along our way. The house (unit 8) was clean and spacious. The double bed has a good mattress and we slept really well. The only things we missed were a bar of soap in the bathroom and fresh milk and maybe a couple of rusks in the kitchen. Because we were on our way to Cape Town, arrived in the middle of the night, and the house is some distance from town, we did not have these supplies in our overnight bag. One other upset was that the Safarinow website gives the distance from Three Sisters as 500m when it is in fact 11 km away on the N1 and another 15 km on a gravel road.

We stayed in the Jaghuis. What a wonderful way to truly experience the beautiful Karoo! It is well equipped with all you need. It is neat, quiet and beautiful. The stars are absolutely awesome ! A must if you love nature !
