Less than an hour’s drive from Johannesburg you will find Parys, the jewel of the Vaal River in the Northern Free State. Parys is a fast developing country town located in the Vredefort Dome area, which is the oldest and largest meteorite impact site in the world.

Ancol offers accommodation in four units. The Main House features a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, a dining and sitting room, two bedrooms, and beautiful views of the river. Three smaller, fully equipped and self-catering units are also available on the property. One unit is situated next to the Main House, also boasting views of the river, while the other two units are situated behind the house with views of the garden.

Ancol is situated on the banks of the Vaal River and there are breathtaking views from the Main House and the garden. We are within walking distance of the famous Breë Street with its little shops or the Afri-Dome with its horse shows, cattle auctions and expos. A short walk through the tree-lined streets of this relatively crime-free town might be what is needed to get rid of all the daily stress of the city life.

The place really needs more attention regarding paintwork, quality of cutlery and crockery. Pictures of rooms are lovely as they really are, but the rest of the place is not. Needs dusting and cleaning especially for all the cobwebs.

Had not expected an entire house, as I really only needed accomodation. Should be advertised as a great place for a youth group that would self cater, at a reasonable price. Put in another sleeper couch or two so it could accomodate about 8. Should not be in the category of B&B.

Unfortunately we did not get what I was expecting for he prize R 800 or R 200 pp. The place needs urgent attention of paintwork, refurbishing etc. Cutlery etc is not close to what is expected for example there is no wine glasses, only three spoons etc etc. The bare (and I mean the bare) minimum was avalable. The bathroom and kitchen is in a shocking state. I will most definately not recommend the place to any of my friends.
