I thank God that I booked this hotel just for one night. I booked a standard room for R900 - the costliest of the three hotels I booked for our cape town trip. It was written as standard room but I really don't know how South African standards are like this. We have traveled different parts of SA and we found the hotels are very comfy and beautiful, but this hotel is surely a thumbs down. Let me go to the details point by point:

                                          1. The hotel does not have a parking. You have to park at the outside public parking lot which will cost you R100 extra.
                                          2. The standard room does not have a toilet.
                                          3. It has a shower area inside the room.. all open.
                                          4. You have to use the common toilet which is poorly maintained. Its stinky and water logs in the sink. Ladies have only one bathroom and gents have two.
                                          5. There is no fridge in the room. Where do we keep the beers?
                                          6. The cutlery provided in the room were unclean.
                                          7. The person in your neighbor room can hear you if you talk even in a normal voice.
                                          1. Located at city centre.
                                          2. Room designs are good.
Pros are very few and does not matter when the mandatory things are missing. I will rather cancel my further trip to cape town than booking in this hotel again.

                                          30 December 2014

The Glam rooms only occupy one of the floors in a building which many people have access to, giving the feeling of being unsafe to leave your belongings in the room or to sleep soundly. There is a inter-leading door between every room, which is locked however the sound carries. There is no separate toilet and all rooms have to share a toilet down the passage, very scary to walk down the passage which numerous people have access to in the middle of the night. The room is nicely decorated however feels unclean/ grimy, we did not want to investigate further and so left asap. This was also the more expensive of the hotels I stayed at during my Cape Town holiday and it was by far the worst.

                                          18 December 2013

My wife and I had a great time at The Glam! Our room was spotless and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay at The Glam again.

                                          13 June 2013

One needs to walk up 4 flights of stairs in order to get into the Glam. That is after you have waited for a few minutes for the reception to come down the stair in order to open the locked door for you. The place also smells like smoke. There is no proper ventilation in the building. The lady that works there at least is friendly but unfortunately a bit unprofessional. The Glam is not a place to stay if you are a business person or used to a Hotel.

Really warm welcome. Rooms are immaculate. Great location. Would highly recommend.
