Enjoy walking, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, bird watching or simply unwind in a very tranquil and serene setting. At night, guests can relax by open fires under a carpet of stars that seem to be close enough to touch, while good cuisine and friendly company will soothe the stress and weariness caused by city life.

Seldom does one in life have the privilege of meeting and sharing a short part of your own life with the genuine people of our country. This soon became apparent with Ernest and Stella who run Peters Place, a simple, clean and welcoming stopover for 2 nights. Wholesome food, definitely not cordon bleu, but really good, with a twinkle in Stella’s eye when I put the cumquat in and chewed! The request for home-made soup delivered with aplomb with home-made bread, top class.Oom Cornelius (owner of the farm) who shares the meals and chats around the fire, telling life stories, is a genuine SA... see more
Thanks to Stella and Ernst for making this a truely remarkable experience. Their knowledge of the area coupled with their wonderful hospitality made this a stay that all of us will remember for a long time to come.

After a full day's travel on the dirt roads in the area and exposure to the unsophisticated homesteads around, we should have perhaps been more aware of what we had booked for. The farmstead is very rustic and basic and it took a little while to realise that we were far from the comforts often taken for granted. We learned the Peter had passed away the week before after a lengthy battle with cancer and Stella and Ernst were running the show.
