Thaba Pitsi which means 'mountain of the zebras', in Northern Sotho is situated in the Waterberg in Limpopo, the Province of Peace. Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve is located in close proximity to Gauteng; one-and-a-half hours' drive from the Johannesburg International Airport and one hour’s drive from Pretoria. The Waterberg mountain range in the Limpopo Province is noted for its moderate climate and is considered South Africa's last great wilderness.

Thaba Pitsi has been included in the Sleepover, the good lodge guide, as part of the top 10 most beautiful lodges in Mpumalanga, North West Province and Limpopo Province. Only three lodges out of the 10 are situated in our province. Thaba Pitsi and L’Orange Bleue has earned a proud reputation for its excellent service and fine cuisine. We just spent a great weekend at Thaba Pitsi. We opted for the luxury tent accommodation which was located at the top of the reserve near all the animals. Martin, the game keeper, stayed up here also and he certainly made our weekend. He served fantastic breakfasts at the Zebra Cafe and drove us all around the reserve. He also took us on a game trail on horseback. He is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and made our weekend. We also enjoyed the food in the restaurant but were disappointed that we didn't get to eat at the top in the Zebra Cafe, as that would have made the experience. Thank you to all the staff who were incredibly friendly and helpful.

We were greeted by the very friendly owners on arrival, and that set the tone for a great weekend. They were very helpful and made us feel right at home. The facilities are perfect as was the bungalow we stayed in. Our stay was a very restful one, and got we got to relax, so we had a great weekend indeed. Many thanks and we will definitely go there for another weekend in the future.
