My wife and I recently stayed for a week in the Cape Town area, and finished our stay with one night at the Tudor. The place is ideally situated next to Green Market Square (our room had a balcony and direct view of it), Long street, and a manageable walk to V&A waterfront. The greeting was warm, staff really competent and accommodating, and the room was, for that price range, really beautiful, well decorated and very clean. The only minor downside is that parking is not on the premises, but two blocks away in a secure parking lot in the local hospital building, and costs R95/day. Would...

The hotel was ok.... good breakfast. The big problem was the giant roaches... but it was a decent place.

Really good hotel, nice people working on it, they were helping us a lot preparing our activities in Cape Town.

Arrived with no parking available, had to drive around to find a parking space which I finally did. Arrived at hotel and very disappointed. Shown to room, open door which bangs against the free standing cupboard, room so tiny you can hardly swing a cat, view awful from window. (They say and may I quote - 'luxurious rooms'?) Yet to see that. No water in rooms (not a prerequisite) but when I requested, the response was "yes we can organise but you have to pay for water in your room"! I have never heard of that in my life before and I have stayed in many a place. I was there and then decided that...

You'll have to look for an unmarked door and walk up an inconspicuous staircase to successfully find The Waiting Room. But once inside, you'll soon realize that this little scene is a true hidden gem. Located above the The Royale Eatery in Long...
